You're wrong.
The Italy NT first generation, most of the players came from AC Milan and US Ausonia :o
But I have to admit it, it's different now, most of them now come from jube.

There is not enough long haired players in the national team thses days.

Have a look at the squad in 2002- fine slection of long haired players.

Giaccherini to be in Italy 30?
By Football Italia staff

A call-up to Italy’s Euro 2012 squad would be a dream come true for Juventus revelation Emanuele Giaccherini.

The Gazzetta dello Sport is today suggesting that the uncapped midfielder could be included in Cesare Prandelli’s preliminary 30-man squad on Sunday night.

“We’ll wait for the call-ups with anxiety,” agents Furio Valcareggi and Giulio Marinelli told Tutto Juve on Friday.

“He’s already won the Scudetto this season which was a fantastic achievement, now the national team would be wonderful.

“It would be a dream come true and a reward which the player deserves.”

The versatile 27-year-old joined Juve in the summer in a co-ownership deal from Cesena and he’s had an impressive campaign.

“Who plays well for Juventus like Emanuele can target the national side,” added the representatives. “It’s one thing to do well for Cesena, another for Juventus…

“To feature in 23 games, provide assists and important goals was already a dream for him. The national side would be perfection.”

WHhy is Bonucci in contention, Astori and Acerbi both deserve to be in ahead of him.

It'll be interesting to see how Italy will do at the Euro. So many players on form. Pirlo, Marchisio, Cassano, Chiellini, Barzagli, Buffon and even Nocerino. Also, they've got interesting options like Criscito, Balzaretti, De Rossi, Balotelli, Maggio, Montolivo, Aquilani, Giovinco...

The only spot I feel it's far from good is the trequartista. I'd try Marchisio in there, with Nocerino taking his spot in center-midfield.

Nestafan 13-05-2012 19:41

At the moment, you woulod think Italy will be taking at least 3 Milan players in, Cassano, Montolivo, and Nocerino. Abate and Aquilani in the maybe pile.

Gli Azzuri will win the Euro! Mark my words. Spain will suffer. This squad that Prandelli has is the strongest one after WC 2006 and it's very promising. I always have, and always will root for them from the bottom of my heart.

Forza Italia!!!!!

They're doomed.

Sage 13-05-2012 21:59

borini and destro over matri? I don't think matri is anything special but he's the only poacher in italy worth calling up.

destro had a fine season with siena, but him and borini are not ready for the euros.

also, how can he call up giaccherini over pepe?

forza spain/ireland/croatia :proud:

necromancer 13-05-2012 22:03

He's not gonna play with a Prima Punta. Matri is shit, Borini is shit and Destro is too young.

It's gonna be Balotelli-Cassano, hence the Prima Punta doesn't matter.

Swag matters.

Sage 13-05-2012 23:40

cassano is not on form though, doesn't look more than 50% match fit and is pretty far from the cassano that started the season.

it's natural, it takes time to get back to 100%, but he'll be extremely decisive if italy want to have a decent tournament.

edit: I seriously don't understand how he didn't call up mauri, he's a good player and would be his best option for AM.

necromancer 14-05-2012 06:41

Possibly because the guy is one of the named in Calcioscommesse.

acm55 14-05-2012 06:55

where is Abbiati and Aquilani?

acm55 14-05-2012 06:57

Balotelli --> Quagliarella.....
