Bayern want Man City target Benatia

Manchester City have apparently given up on Mehdi Benatia, but the Roma defender is now close to Bayern Munich.

The Moroccan international has been training separately from his teammates in pre-season, as he was determined to push through a transfer to Manchester City.

According to today’s reports, the Citizens have veered off in another direction and look set to spend £30m (€38m) on Eliaquim Mangala from Porto instead.

However, Roma are still not out of the woods, as Calciomercato.com now claims Bayern Munich have dived in for Benatia.

Director Walter Sabatini set a deadline of July 21 for Benatia to find another club or commit to remaining with the Giallorossi.

His price-tag is believed to be around €35m (£30m).

Napoli offer Dzemaili for Xhaka

Napoli offer €5m plus Blerim Dzemaili to prise Swiss international Granit Xhaka from Borussia Monchengladbach.

According to Swiss media Ticinonline, the 21-year-old midfielder caught the eye of Coach Rafa Benitez during the World Cup.

His contract is due to expire in June 2015, so Borussia Monchengladbach need to sell now or risk losing him on a free transfer next year.

It’s reported the proposal is €5m cash plus ownership of another Swiss international midfielder, Dzemaili.

Xhaka would join Swiss captain Gokhan Inler and Valon Behrami at the Stadio San Paolo.

Siena and Padova bankrupt
Siena and Padova have officially gone bankrupt after failing to register for the Serie B and Lega Pro seasons.

In Italy each club must prove its financial stability before beginning a new campaign and failure to do so results in not being registered for the season.

Siena had been on the verge of collapse for several years, as their main backers the Banca Montepaschi di Siena were caught up in a financial scandal.

President Massimo Mezzaroma resigned earlier this month in order to help find a new buyer quickly, but Siena could not be saved.

They missed today’s deadline to provide paperwork covering taxes and unpaid wages, as their debts amounted to €70m (£56m).

Siena had been founded in 1904 and were in Serie A most recently in 2012-13.

The club title can be bought by a new owner, but they’ll have to begin again from Serie D.

Padova failed to register for the Lega Pro campaign after their relegation, so will be able to resume under a new owner from the amateur Leagues.

Padova Calcio were founded in 1910 and were most recently in Serie A in 1995-96.

Grosseto were also at risk, but were able to prove their solidity before the deadline.

It now remains to be seen whether a club will be plucked from Lega Pro to fill in for Siena or the division reduced.

No news yet. He hadnt extended with Juve.. Resigns after day 1 of pre-season.

According to multiple sources, including La Stampa and La Gazzetta dello Sport, Conte failed to reach an agreement over a three-year contract renewal today.

He did not share their view of strategy for transfers and expected objectives for the next few seasons.

It is reported the contract, which runs until June 2015, will be terminated by mutual consent.

Vidal and Conte leaving Juve at the same time is somewhat like Kaka and Ancelotti leaving Milan at the same time.

Not like Juventus' success was all down to Conte. They still have a superior squad/built better than Milans.

And there are other teams who are likelier to step up and grab scudetto if Juve does collapse.

Juve's success was as much due to Conte as Milan's downfall was due to lazy transfers. Most important factor.

Dude dont joke like that! If we actually replaced Conte with Allegri i would swim to Torino and assassinate him myself in front of the press while he is being unveiled.
