I think Mourinho deserves praise overall for how he handled all the clasicos.
Indeed!!

His season is so-so, but the clasicos have been great. Barcelona run them over the first time around but the last three games Real has simple been that inch better than Barcelona. People can say they want to see them play another way or whatever, but focusing on winning games; they have suddenly been better than Barcelona that has dominated for some time now.

With some homefield advantage; they´ve shown nothing at camp nou yet, but still. And for myself, this is the first time since Zidan I enjoy watching Real. Might have something to do my growing hate of Barcelona, but I think its a pretty charming team; in its very own CR-Pepe-Mourinho kind of way.

I cant understand some of the people who are against Barcelona.

Wtf they dominated Madrid in all the 4 games that has been played this season, except maybe the first half in the final of the cup.

In the last three matches especially in the league game and in the final. Madrid players BEAT UP Messi. They kicked his ass. They didnt stop him, they kicked him like some big boys catch up a little guy in the corner.

Mourinho made his players tackle Messi from behind it happend serval of times in the final of the cup and it happend today. It's a shame for a player like Alonso who has won a CL and was in a CL final and won the world cup to tackle a player like MESSI in that way.

Barcelona players whine? Madrid has Cristina, Maria in their team.

Barcelona well deserved the win they got a possesion in a SEMI FINAL match 71% it could have been even bigger in the end of the game. In a semi final match in Madrid's own fucking yard. And people say Barcelona didnt deserve to win.

All hail to the king Messi Showed that he's better than that girl.
I think a post like this is actually a good start to ignite some ill will. When you read it, you honestly question if the poster watched the games. Throw in some Xavi quotes and we´re there.

And I mean, love the team and the win all you want, but how on earth are you proud of 70% possession infront of your own keeper? Personally, I´d probably keep quite about that part. :s

I'm beginning to think I must have missed a FIFA directive on the replacement of goals with a possession count.

This match was an utter disgrace. Disgusting stuff from both sides really. After this match, I believe UEFA should hand out serious fines and bans for dives/playacting.

I'm beginning to think you need to let this go.

Never! If I make more posts on the subject than anyone else, even if my argument goes round in circles, I deserve to win the debate.

You need to use more bold words on your posts. A post with random bolds can't be wrong.

How did u make it look like Alves was kicking pepe? LOL
I think it must be after pepe hit alves that this screenshot was taken?
It looked like a deserved red to me. pepe wasn't close to winning the ball and he wasn't blocking the path of the ball either. It was clear where he was going...

nvm... i just realized it was different incidents...
RMA player's boots are black in 2nd foto

I think Mourinho actually got his tactics wrong, he played too much defensive and sat back wayyyyyy too much. For his Home leg he should have been set out to win the game.........

I actually think he got the tactics right to park the bus
we already know what happens when he spread the legs LOLLLLLLLL

And I mean, love the team and the win all you want, but how on earth are you proud of 70% possession infront of your own keeper? Personally, I´d probably keep quite about that part. :s

I am not a barca fan. I just hate real.
That said... It was 77% possession. And it was two goals in the madrid net in addition to being infront of valdes :D

This is true. But the important thing is that I retain possession of the debate through incessant posting.

My take on yesternight's 'Battle of Bernabeu'..just a few happenings that mentally stuck.

Di Maria was quite scary in the first half..had some brilliant bursts down our right. I've observed this: Dani has low composure..once under continuous pressure he errs much..those confrontations before his yellow showed so..the same thing happened in the return League leg when he brought down Ozïl for the penalty.
It was really strange to see the normally placid vulture/human thing :D animated after Alves did him a bit on that wing..counting with his fingers. He's human afterall.
Thankfully Mr. Urban Legend wasted all three (?) freekicks from those horror Alves tackles..and another central one which went straight out of the stadium.

Speaking of which, Mr. Urban Legend aka Vagino Ronaldo aka Mr. Cunth :) was anonymous all match..except for maybe that exasperated shot after one FAIL! freekick that Valdes did well to parry, even making a double save. I mean, based on formation positions, Puyol was to be the designated CR7 marker since he played LB..but he didn't have to break half a salty sweatdrop doing that sorta shit..Keita and a free-roaming Busquets did that amicably, though it must be said that Mou's intentional gameplan was to funnel much of the gameplay AWAY from Mr. UL/VR's zone..Lass and esp. Pepe had a lot more of the ball.

Busquets deserved an Oscar statuette for his interesting dive v/Marcelo in the first half..I admitted that here during halftime. :D

Talking of dives, boy..we were DIRTY atypically, but yeah that's part of football ain't it?

Pinto's red I missed..some altercation in the tunnel at halftime or something..at least he'll be there in the Wembley dugout, complete with his San Andreas braids. :)

Pepe's red=harsh, but right. Intent folks..there was obvious malicious intent, and the challenge was high, that with the studs as well. Had it connected properly that would have been redolent of the Gattuso challenge on Corluka..some bad shit.

For this reason Marcelo should've gotten a clean byer from the ref, had he seen that stamp on Pedro's thigh..Ped had a great chance to open the scoring there after the initial Villa shot, don't know if he was offside with that low header or not, but it was an awful attempt..

And then the thigh-crushing stamp.

You know, was good that happened. Celo got his come-uppance with Ibra's introduction..the Dutch Ibra. :) Fresh pace, fresh, fresh, fresh..just at the time Marcelo had started gasping for breathers.

JF's red? Lol at him writting some golden SHIT in his makeshift prison..didn't change a bit, hahahahaha!!! He did give the fourth official a mouthful and a load of sarcastic winks, so hey.

I complimented Messi's finishing before..OUTSTANDING stuff.

Keita had a supposedly quiet game, but he was instrumental in keeping the possession in the middle, and in starting the forward pushes with Xavi. We didn't miss Iniesta, thank God for that.

Adebayor otoh was a total fuckhead, shoving, shoving, shoving his way stupidly to a deserved yellow, no other contribution whatsoever.

Villa needs to rebuild his predatory confidence from the scratch..he's a totally changed guy compared to his Valencia days. Yeah, his new LWF status in Barca may be an excuse, but it's tenuous..he flourished roaming on the left early in the season, and in the WC after his transfer had been announced. Silva's done much better at Shitty all season. :(
It's a mental thing..hopefully he'll sort that out a bit within the last six games of this BEAUTIFUL season.

I've left out much, but I'm quite tired already.

We deserved the win..defending deep and tight, hard multi-player pressing (tires players quickly), waiting for errant counters..you call that football? Is that what the whole planet's fallen in love with?

:fp: Jose Fiver, :fp:

Corz, seriously, do you even watch the games you comment on properly?

Alves brought down Marcelo for the penalty

It was Flamini who fouled Corluka, and it was in no way the same kind of tackle as Pepe's on Alves

Marcelo's stamp on Pedro was unintentional. Watch the replays again...

Pepe's red was harsh imo. His boot wasnt raised that high and there definitely wasnt any malicious intent to harm Alves. It was a yellow at best...

Hey, hellooo... Real Madrid players, did you forget that the ONLY and RIGHT way to play football is by keeping the ball?

“The red card was a red card. He [Pepe] tackled really strong and for Daniel Alves it could be painful and after that there was another reaction, I think Marcelo against Pedro – it was another red card.”

Yes and there was another red card that the referee missed, Marcelo vs Busquetes. You could see how it was really hard for Busquetes as he was dying on the pitch like someone shot him. The problem was, was it in the face? the chest? his right cheek? left cheek? No one knows! I think even he himself doesn't know... but man it was painful, should have been straight red +3 games ban for Marcelo

Adebayor:

"For me in a few days I have played three games against Barcelona, and each time we have to play with 10 [men]. That's something I cannot believe and today maybe Pepe committed a foul but I don't think it was a red card and it was difficult for the team,”

"But our belief is still high and we just have to believe that we can do it there [at Camp Nou]."

"Football is a game of men," "Whenever you play against Barcelona, whenever you touch them, they are on the floor crying like a baby. Whenever you make contact in a 50-50 they are on the floor, crying, putting their hand over their face, and their manager, their fans, they are always crying."

"Barcelona are a fantastic club, don't get me wrong, but they have to stop a little bit of that."

"We are here to play football but whenever we go 50-50 they are always on the floor crying."

Extremely rich coming from adebayor i must say after his track record. And Pepe may not have been a sending off but he (adebayor) should have had at least 4 yellows and 2 reds by the time the game was finished. Lol at american football tackles he was making without intention of getting the ball.

Anyway. Midgets have won UCL now.

I was saying madrid got raped both 11 men and 10 men on pitch. Parking the bus is a tactic used by a team like bari against Milan.
NOT in a match where both teams are high ranks... it's just being a total pusscake.
That's why Mourinho will not stay long at Madrid. The management wants Real to outplay Barca and play beautiful football...it's not only to win but how you win. With these tactics however, it's like Real are just conceding that Barca are better so we won't even bother competing for ball possession. It's like bowing down to Barca and hoping somehow Barca gift them a goal. I'm telling you this annoys the Madrid directors, who envisioned a more attractive style of play when they spent all this money to bring Kaka, CR7, Ozil, Benzema...they envisoned playing like the Real of Zidane, RCarlos, Figo, Ronaldo. If the special one can't deliver this he will be gone, just like Capello was gone after winning La Liga in 2006.

Nah, forget Ozil. Read somewhere that he had a grand total of 4 passes attempted in the first half and only 2 successful. He was pretty ineffective, they needed to start with Adebayor up top and Di Maria and CR on the wings or CR and Adebayor with Kaka behind them. They were home ffs and Mourinho just fucked up with his negative, ill discipline tactics.

Adebayor should have seen instant red when he knocked down a Barcelona player with a double hook from both his fists at the end of match.

after watching that joke of a classico , i believe that fifa and uefa should do something about they way players disgracefuly crowd the ref after a call. After every single foul, those little midgets of barcelona were surronding him and i gaurantee you that can effect a referees call.

Referee Wolfgang Stark was not afraid to make big decisions in Real Madrid-Barcelona and five things we learned from the Champions League this week

Fitness is no substitute for class

Prior to Schalke’s meeting with Manchester United on Tuesday evening, much had been made of their physical conditioning and running ability. While Ralf Rangnick’s side didn’t employ the pace of game they were expected to force upon the Red Devils, they still managed to comfortably outrun their Premier League opponents. Yet for all their undoubted industry, the Bundesliga outfit failed to make any kind of impression upon Sir Alex Ferguson’s men. Raul, even at 33 years old, did more running than anyone else on the park, but his influence was peripheral, typifying the flaws in Schalke’s approach. That they rarely had the possession needed to make the ball do the running for them was the home side's greatest weakness. Indeed, had it not been for Manuel Neuer, they would face a deficit far greater than 2-0.

Wayne Rooney will be vital if Manchester United are to be successful

Deployed just behind Javier Hernandez in a No.10 role for Manchester United, Wayne Rooney enjoyed a magnificent evening against Schalke, proving a class apart from anyone within the German side's ranks. In this position, he was able to dictate the flow of much of United’s attacking play, often getting involved in the game to good effect. This performance has simply added weight to the fact that the England attacker is coming out of a long period of mediocre form. Of course, this campaign will not be remembered as one of the Liverpudlian’s best, but there are strong signs that he can again be Sir Alex Ferguson’s go-to player in the closing weeks of the campaign, coming good just when it was most required. After the Premier League side suffered a frustrating first hour in Gelsenkirchen, Rooney’s intelligent dummy and killer pass created the first goal and he dealt the hosts a decisive blow by scoring himself a couple of moments later. If Manchester United are to challenge Barcelona in the final – assuming both sides qualify – he will have to be similarly influential.

Wolfgang Stark is prepared to make big decisions

It was something of an unenviable task to be asked to officiate Real Madrid against Barcelona, which was always going to come under the microscope to an unprecedented extent given the hype that has built up around these fixtures. With bad blood simmering between the teams from two recent domestic meetings, German referee Wolfgang Stark had a hard job controlling the two sets of players. One thing the official couldn’t be criticised for was making the big decisions. The red card to Pepe has split supporters – even neutrals – into two very distinct camps, highlighting the difficult nature of the job he was asked to undertake. But the referee’s performance has been widely praised, and rightly so for the sensible manner in which he took charge of the fixture and dealt with two teams so intent on winning at all costs.

Barcelona’s players are so gifted it doesn’t matter who plays where

Travelling to the Spanish capital on Wednesday night, Barcelona had a vastly depleted squad. Though Andres Iniesta’s absence from the midfield caught the headlines, arguably their greatest problems were in defence, where they were without a recognised left-back due to a succession of players picking up problems. Carles Puyol was played in the role as a stop gap measure while Javier Mascherano was moved from his habitual midfield role into the back four. Did this faze the Catalans? Not one bit. They looked assured and confident at the back for all but a brief spell before the half-time interval, with goalkeeper Victor Valdes enjoying a comfortable evening between the posts.

Jose Mourinho is a particularly bitter loser

Having set out to stifle Barcelona once more, Jose Mourinho saw his plans come apart in the latter stages of the game as Lionel Messi scored a brace to remember at Bernabeu. But rather than reflect upon his own tactical shortcomings in this encounter, Mourinho chose to launch a scathing attack on Pep Guardiola. “Guardiola is a fantastic coach, but he won a Champions League which would shame me, with the Stamford Bridge scandal [in the 2009 semi-final]. This year, if he wins it, it will be the Bernabeu scandal,” the Portuguese incredibly blasted. Given that Mourinho’s teams are better known for pragmatism and sportsmanship, it might be wise for him to ensure his own house is in order before criticising others, particularly an opposing number whose side was so technically superior to his own.

You're wrong..Alves brought down Ozïl for the penalty Vagino converted in the 1-1 draw on the 16th.

About Flams, you're right..I was sleepy earlier today, was quite hard to recollect..while having a shower about an hour back it came to me..the horror scissors tackle on Corluka. My bad.

About your Marcelo and Pepe comments, I'm not easily bullshitted. The Pepe affair was high, in the sense that it was aimed for Alves's tarsals and a bit of the lower shin.
