the subs worked out very well

fuck that was good
it has a lot of different elements in it

need to watch it again
it will definetly win some prizes for sure

I think the new ones should be ok, yeah. The first ones really scrambled a lot of context.

The tone changes are just  from thriller to comedy to horror - what a ride.

Palme d'Or already in the bag and lot to come most probably. Masterpiece.

Really weak. First half an hour was low hanging fruit a random tryhard twitter user puts out. Weirdly it was everything the people who praise it don't want a comedy shot to be. Ted talk type shit. But at one point he got me on the ride as well. But the reactions are just weird. It's like it has nothing to do with the show at all.

It’s 99% trash

This one was funny

The MJ bit... I was dying

I absolutely loved Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. 10/10 experience, I knew a fair bit about the Manson case randomly before, so I realized where it was going and in my mind that made it an even better experience.

Can't wait to screen the Joker.

Matthew McConaughey is starring in the new Guy Ritchie film. I hope he can deliver a new classic.

There's this dude called Tom o'neill who wrote a book recently on the Manson case. Havent read it het, but i heard him on a podcast and it sounds very interesting.
Very much undermining of the official story.

Joker ... best movie i have seen for years.
Never expected a joker over Ledger but i was wrong.
Never expected a darker comic movie than Batman trilogy & again wrong.
Wont say spoilers but this isnt a hero/action movie but slow burning psychological biography of my favorite comic character.
Its insanely good & after you watch it you will really get to know what made the joker.
Every move , hate or love he will make will relate & make sense because you will know the character.
Plz a sequel with Margo , plz plz plz.
Best hero/villain origin , by far.
Oh and the movie got one epic build up for the ending .... dear lord.
Be careful , you may end up cheering for the joker over Batman after this one.

Joker was for me as well one of the besr movies ever made. Truly a masterpiece.

Biggest respect and credit goes to Joaquin Phoenix. Damn that acting... he really lives his role. I'd say he has overtaken Ledger as the best joker

But as someone put it, Ledger is probably in heaven smiling down at Phoenix at the moment

Ok.

I think it was real.
His hallucinations stopped after he found out about it when he confronted the girl.
A revolution has indeed started & the hint is one of his followers killing Bruce wayne's parents which will eventually create Batman.
So, he indeed has followers & they freed him before he was arrested & sent to the asylum.

Only one thing I'm not sure about

Did he kill "his gf" and her daughter?

It went straight from being king to being in Asylum so I don't agree.

Did he rape Zazie? or the child? I mean, Gary Glitter ...

What about Taxi Driver end, people? And King of Comedy? You think it was real?

Joker was fantastic.
Best film I've seen since T2 Trainspotting.

The Irishman - shud be more aptly named Luca Brasi.

Hated the film. Scorsese fucked his own legacy so hard that Goodfellas & Casino need to be booked into some fancy clinic for major reconstruction surgery.

Interesting.

I really enjoyed the languid pace among other things. So much so, in fact, that I watched it in the theater early in November, and again on Netflix.

I think Scorsese was more unapologetic in his delivery with this movie. No more repartee and violence for the sake of it. The conversation carried out the majority of the violence.

One of my favourites.

Just watched it.

Nice to see the old gang.

But they are way passed it for these kind of roles.

Also the movie is 3:30h long and slow paced.

And whats with de niro makeup, he looks like a wax statue.

Goodfellas is a masterpiece, this is not.

I'm not upset with the performances, loved Harvey Keitel I wish there was more of him, I liked Joe Pesci very much he shud've been shown more in the film. I didnt like Bob's character, it didnt not suit him one bit, the big body CGI made him look like Frankenstein's monster he shud have played Santo Trafficante or Carlos Marcello in the film.

My biggest disappointment with this is the story, the direction the film took... it shud've been abt the mafia & the kennedys with a little mix of Hoffa, the bootlegging, election rigging, kennedys busting the unions,
Trafficante/Marcello (Bob) siding with Hoffa against the Kennedys and finally Bob falling out with Hoffa... make it 4:30hrs long, I dont give a fuck, but make it electrifying... this was a piece of garbage.

Ray Ramano, Stephen Graham, & Bobby Cannavale were wasted in the film they shud've had more prominent roles... hell, the bartender shudve had 2/3 more scenes he was cool.

This is Ray Liotta's curse on the film... they shudve had him in it. This shudve been the final piece in Goodfellas & Casino trilogy but instead its garbage.

One plus, I found a sick tune through it all...

Movie was brilliant. Pacino playing his ass off, his first great role in a very long time.

The problem is, some people just want a Goodfellas rehash. Its not. These guys are geriatric, a high energy flick like that wouldve been pathetic.
This movie was more contemplative and Franks character had more depth than any Scorsese character since Taxi Driver.
Thats great imo, and exactly what Scorsese should do right now.

was good.

That movie is all nostalgia/retrophilia.
If you're not fascinated by late 60s LA or the Manson case, then I imagine it must've been pretty boring to watch.

I liked it. Far from Tarantino's best, but it was enjoyable, unlike say the Kill Bill movies.

Best bit in Once Upon A Time in Hollywood is right near the end where Leo is home making drinks and he hears a loud car outside his house, he starts walking to the window to take a look and bitching abt him living on a private rd, high property taxes & no peace and quiet, guy gets to the window and sees an old rusty car parked up and he goes: "Bunch of Goddamn fucking hippies."

Lol! Its the way he said it... cracked me up.

Overall a horrible QT movie.
