I've read that people don't want Van Bommel at Milan. However, I think he would be much better than Seedorf, and he could fit in well with Ambro and Rino. I would like to sign him or Lazzari, but MvB seems more probable.

No thanks.

Too old, too expensive.(salary)

He should go to Wolfsburg. They need some big-team winning menality in their squad. Milan do not need more experience, we already have too much of that.

Of course Van Bommel is much better than Seedorf. Van Bommel is a DM, and Seedorf is an AM, though. Last year Van Bommel was possible the best Dutch NT player, and also he has been good for Bayern. Unfortunate, Van Bommel would be upgrading a position we're good at already, so he won't upgrade much. Lazzari fits better as someone who should play over Seedorf. Van Bommel means competition for Ambrosini, Gattuso and Strasser, not so much for Seedorf. Seedorf will remain as Pirlo's first backup if Van Bommel is the only midfielder we'll sign, unless playing Cassano as AM would be the answer. So I'm not sure what to think of signing Van Bommel, since he won't earn little and would be a short-term signing.

:star::star::star:

Don't forget we'll have Flamini back, possibly against Lecce. If we sign MvB it would be 5 DMs FFS! :|

Plus KPB has characteristics to break opposition's play more of a destroyer and a hard working player.

Shame that Dinho lost the plot, Dorf is going downhill since 2008-09 season and we have only about 60% fit Cassano as our only attacking midfielder.

Merkel is.. well an apprentice at the moment.

We should be signing an attacking midfielder in summer and Lazzari now, in January.

A disgusting player in the world cup & if there was good referring then neither him or Holland would have reached the final.
However , he is a fantastic midfielder.
If he is for free with low salary then bring him.
He would add so much for our midfield.

Not just at the World Cup. In general he is. Not as much as he used to be, I think.

What the fuck. Raiola is his agent, it seems like wherever we go... Raiola is there.

He's talented. A geniune asshole, old expensive, and a position we have a lot of (albeit injured). I'd rather a more versatile player such as Lazzari, but if it's the choice between bringing in Van Bommel or nobody... I'd have to think about it.

Please no... This guy is an asshole and a dinosaur. We need young players like Boateng and Lazzari, not people who are already past their prime.

Actually, he's linked with Wolfsburg also. Just saying. (And can we stop with calling him MvB? I believe that refers to someone else here.)

Well, if we call that shitty Cristiano - Ronaldo, why shouldn`t we use MvB for Bommel? Standards in football nowdays are to low.:head:

Despite not liking him but I think he would be only second to Ambro.
He can easily replace any of Gatu , Flams , Pirlo & do better.
Lazzari is another story however , younger + different characteristics.
As I said , if Bommel for free with a low wage then this could mean a better midfield.

Van Bommel is not past his prime. Last year he was amazing. He's more likely in his prime now than past it. Some players get better when olding.

I wouldn't have an issue with Van Bommel, as a short-term measure. Ignoring the general consensus that he's not a very nice man, he's a fantastic player and a winner.

He's not particularly mobile (neither is Ambrosini or Gattuso these days), but he's a balanced holding midfielder - something Milan lack. He's extremely solid defensively, yet good enough on the ball that he doesn't need someone like Pirlo to do his passing for him. He could improve any squad.

Yes, Lazzari is younger, but what did he achieve? He's 26 already and didn't even play for the Italian national team. Sorry, but I expect a bit more from a player of that age if he's to play for a team like Milan. I would prefer Van Bommel at any hour of the day.

There are plenty things Milan are lacking more than that. We have Ambrosini as holding midfielder who is doing well, and Strasser as backup who is someone for the long-term. Though it's true, indeed because Van Bommel's passing is very good for a DM, he would improve our squad. Also Pirlo should play, and to have a more mobile midfield, I think Flamini should also (who I like since him playing box-to-boxish, not so much as pure DM). So to me it makes sense signing Van Bommel means benching Ambrosini. Though I won't be surprised if Allegri plays both, and bench Flamini instead.

Shouldn't we sign players for positions where we need them (when it comes to short-term signings)? Signing someone just because he's good (whatever his position is) isn't the right way. I also find the thought that Strasser would play less this way sad.

Dude, get some update. MvB was linked and signed for Barcelona 6 years ago. This thread is that old.
Actually he`s only linked with us. And if Raiola demands 3 years contract, we should say to him: "F*ck you". MvB is good, but only for 1 year spell.

You're right. My bad. Just read that someone said he already signed at barca haha :) Him moving to barca wouldn't make any sense at all.

What the fuck guys.

MvB =
marco_van_basten.jpg

Both Binho and Ibra have had their scuffles with Van Bommel, who in both instances didn't retaliate at all, just took their verbal abuse like a professional. That said:

Also iic Ibra also had a fight with Mexes and nobody had a problem linking him with us.

Nesta and Ibra were younger back than and both stupider !!!

Nesta is 34 today it's no problem for him today he's grown up, also a bit Ibra...

But Marco Van Bommel has had fight with Ibra Recently and Robinho too...

And Ibra criticized him in the Media after that Holland-Sweden Game...

It's TOOOOOOOOOOO Much risk at having Bommel, Robinho, Ibra, Boateng, Cassano, in one team but... and Bommel is master at annoying players...

Everything is possible is guess though !...

Van Bommel got something like 10 red cards throughout his nervous career. We already have psycho Cassano, why give our role model team a bad name?

He does the dirty work on the field. It's his job, he does it pretty well and this benefits his team. This doesn't mean he is a psycho who give tackles on the fellow players on the dressing room.

Ibra and Robinho know (or should know by now) that football is not played by angels, and fouls, tackles and dives are all part of the game. Just because you do that to help your team doesn't mean you're a bad person or in a lower dregree of dignity than someone else.
