Since Ely has been called up for the Coppa game, I think its time he gets his own thread. Out of all our Primavera players, I think I am most excited about him, he is only 17 and Allegri and Co think highly enough of him to have him train with the first team.

he is also exciting, but Ely is just such a mysterious figure, all this drama about getting him for a youth player and then right after he gets his passport he gets called up to the first team... its very out of the ordinary

This kid is reportedly destined for greatness. After his debut in the Primavera - in which he only played 10 minutes as a substitue - he gets called up by Allegri. Also, he's been training regularly with the first team for a while.

Poor Albertazzi and Pasini never even came close to this achievement.

He's had a year to acclimatise himself with the environment at Milanello and the atmosphere around the club. Not to mention the style of play, the language and culture.

After Merkel, I belive RoEly and Calvano will be the next big thing.

not really, I found out that they're doing it(Milan's site) because he was called up on the game. It happened with Calvano on the Cesena game, a day after the match, his name went missing from the site

He was not on the bench, wasn't he? I read on soccernet that we didn't have CB as substitutes in today's match. Allegri probably thought that we didn't need CB on the bench since Silva can be moved to CB when needed.

I also ever thought about that but this kid is very young and for a CB experience is a very essential. He could be our starter in the age of 23-25 (if he is really talented).

Not sure how he'll develop, never seen the kid, but its nice that we have a defender that people are raving about in our Primavera.

Yeah. As someone said, he is like a mystery. Almost never played with in Primavera competition (only played in Primavera friendlys and Viareggio tournament) but called to train with first team (even didn't manage to sit on bench). There should be something on him seeing Albertazzi and other elder defender never get call under Allegri (if I remember it correctly).

From the training game he looked promising but it is only a training game (not even a friendly game).

great to see this kid getting called up for todays match against catania..doubt he will get any match time in, but deff. a good sign seeing him on the bench..
