Daniel Maldini.
I think he's done enough in the last few games to claim a spot in the starting lineup, especially considering Loca's poor form.

Fantastic performance :star:

Was not expecting that from him, changed the game completely. Showed a lot of class on the ball

As i was saying recently, we all love locatelli but his contribution in the attacking phase of the game is poor and needs alot of work which is why next season he shouldn't be a starter lets grow him carefully. I m curious to see how he works out in kucka's position though. The most important element sosa brings to the team is his ability to switch play effectively, if the plan is to be a possession based team switching the play is key and this is why lazio became so stretched when he came on, the ball was moving across the field quicker

Good cameo today. I think next game he should start with Kucka and Locatelli

glad he's starting to settle in, this will really help Locatelli's development as he won't have to be the starting anchor every single game and can have some time to improve on his weaknesses.

obviously he helped the team a lot in the last game against Lazio when he came in.
the problem is that he is not good in his defensive duties so if he is to start tomorrow then we will need 2 mids who will cover for him.
if kucka and pasalic will play with him in the middle then they will have to do all the defensive work

Plays much better when Bonaventura isn't in the side. Gets more protection in the midfield, glad he's starting to show some value

with the current injuries and set up

Pasalic/Locatelli-Sosa-Kuco

both of the side mids are strong and can cover so we let sosa play his passing game

Another great performance, faded a bit towards the end and had a couple of bad passes but was on point for most of the match

Those passes to Abate

If only Abate knew how to shoot... poor guy looked so clueless when he got close to the goal.

NO.

if anything Locatelli is one of few players we have who could progress into being a complete player ..
can pass can defend can shoot and score good in the air , 1m86 huge presence physically , i mean cant you see that :fp:

He is also very young and plays a really difficult position in a very tactical demanding league.

Even if he is making mistakes, I think for him to be able to even play the way he is given the situation he was thrown in (Montolivo out with serious injury with no other natural regista & anchor) shows that he has a lot of promise.

For now, I think Sosa is doing a better job with the set up but that does not mean we should abandon Locatelli's development like some posters are suggesting.

Personally I'm not mad Locatelli is benched.

It gives him rest and allows him to not get complacent.

And yes he's done really well considering he plays a hard position (probably a harder position than CB since he has to dictate play, protect the defense, etc...)

I agree with both of you.

In the longterm it's better for Loca (at his age and considered his position) to follow a slower growth that being thrown into one of the biggest clubs of the world at 18 while everybody expects you to become the new Pirlo.

Loca will become great, he doesn't loose anything at warming the bench even for two or three games in a row without being subed in. He will slowly grow and we don't risk to burn him. I'm sure in 2-3 years he'll be a very good and composed player with well developed skill - and still only 20/21 years old.

Oh sorry to say something on topic: Sosa put in another very good performance and his freekicks (those long ball free kicks) are something we definitely missed this season. Not to forget some of his distribution work. Very very pleased of what I've seen. If he only had Bona at his left flank to dialog with (and Deulo upfront mamma mia Bona really is the missing link here IMO)
