And another lovable midtable striker gets on the scoresheet. Pavoletti 6-0.

Missed the game but just saw highlights. Even if this was against a small team, Italy looked on fire out there. Solid performance by everyone.

Saw the full game after work. The opposition was poor, but Italy played fluently. Was really impressed with Sensi, Spinazzola, and Verratti.

June will be more telling. Greece and Bosnia.

Spinazzola was my man of the match, followed by Sensi and Verratti. Those 3 certainly stood out. I think Spinazzola is now very close to being the starting fullback, while Sensi will find it far more difficult to break the Jorginho-Verratti-Barella midfield. But it's incredible how Italy has gone from no good midfielders to 4 good ones over a few months, thanks to a tactically clever coach.

And this is probably one of the most talented U-21 teams I’ve ever seen. So much heavy duty Serie A experience in there, including two club captains.

So looking forward to this tournament.

Grazie Mancini. Every game is a brilliant offensive display now.

ive always said that milans lack of creativity is down to poor players not gattuso's grinta style, but mancini is makes a great argument for a manager completely changing the style of a team. very fluid tiki taka team and good wing play. well done

Stefano Sensi has been very impressive in the first two games of the season for Inter, so could he start for Italy?

“Sensi has a possibility of starting, there are two games to be played, so we’ll see.”

Considering Torino started the season earlier to take part in the Europa League preliminary rounds, does that mean Andrea Belotti is the favourite ahead of Ciro Immobile to lead the line?

“Let’s be honest here, we have picked 10 of the starting XI and there is one doubt. I haven’t said who the doubt is or in what area and I won’t tell you now!”

Very poor dismissing from the referee. Of course Italy needs favors to win.

Comfy win in the end, the red card was quite harsh though. Italy didn't look anywhere as stellar as in the last few games, but that's understandable in the beginning of the season.

Good to see Belotti scoring. The only position that's not really set in this team is the CF position.

Yes, really curious to see who stakes the strongest claim up front. Belotti is meh for Italy.

I watched the first half on my lunch...watched bits and pieces of the second one, so can't judge the game properly.

I'm still holding out the crazy hope that Balotelli will have an emotional, extraordinary, spectacular season for Brescia, leading to his joyous comeback to the nazionale. And then he'll light up the Euro :proud:
