yes, let's judge him only after 1 game in charge for which had almost no time to prepare :proud:

Bad loss by Rino.
72% possesion and 8 shots on target.
Milik could excel under Grintusso..

I don't see what more Rino could've done, besides perhaps inserting Llorente to give Bruno Alves a match for the gazillion crosses Napoli sent in.
But he only had 2 subs after the Koulibaly injury and I can see why he would choose Mertens and Lozano.

The main problem with the team is that they look so tired and lethargic compared to a few years ago.
Like Tottenham, except the problem is even more severe at Napoli.
I used to be impressed by the intensity and urgency of their game, but all that is gone after one and a half year with Carlo "you need to rest" Ancelotti.

Mertens seems to be lower on energy than Suso and lower on motivation than Balp. Callejon is also declining hard, but at least he looks like trying.
Zielinski has incredibly low lows.
They still don't have an anchor or holding mid. Allan is not it.

It's going to be very difficult to create a solid defence with those defenders.

Dejan Kulusevski's distance covered: 14.393km:eek::eek:
Highest I've ever seen in 90 mins.

That can't be healthy.

Don't forget Mertens turns 33 in a few months. He was never the biggest runner either.

I was mesmerized by his performance yesterday. But I wasn't aware that he put in such a tremendous shift. Even in the last minutes, he never looked tired.

In comparison, Kessie is usually around the 12 km-mark.

Toro giving up a 3-0 lead oooof. That is great for us, with a win we can leap over them and Napoli to be 8th. 1 from Parma and 6 from 4th.

Not this season.

Him and Hakan are down to around 11km.

I don't know what Giampaolo did during the preseason, but it deserves a prison sentence.

Memba when Rino took the players to the italian alps during pre season just for endurance running.
GP destroyed it all.

Ah, can't say I'm overly surprised. Gattuso's style of play is more focused on determination, grit and running. GP, on the other hand, tried to implement a possession based system with less baseless running and more movement around the ball carrier. Kessie fits the former like a glove, the latter not.

Obviously, Kessie under such conditions was never meant to be and he delivered some deplorable performances.

Except Rino's and Pioli's teams also have/had more movement around the ball carrier.

I cant recall that many truly great headers of the ball... Alan Shearer, Bierhoff, those are the 2 that come to mind right away... this is just my opinion, CR is better than both.

Yorke was an incredible header of the ball. His two headed goals destroyed Inter Milan in 1999 en route to ManUnited's treble

Mario Jardel was also pretty good

Ramos is a pretty solid header as well. 100 career goals as a central defender speaks for itself.

Everyone else: you gotta jump right before the ball reaches you, to head it.
Ronaldo: I'l just float in the air, and wait for the ball to come to me.

Indeed, the guy is simply incredible as a CB. He sometimes gets passed over, because he had the red card streak early in his career, but the guy is an all time great CB.

Probably top 3 in the modern game (E.G post Maldini, Nesta's of the world)

Yeah Ramos has to be up there.

Also that is an insane header.

Watching Brescia vs Lazio. Tonali :star: The kid is the real deal I'm sure. Would be devastating to see him end up at Inter or Rube.
