Spain is better (technically wise).

Germany deserves it more. Beaten top contenders, scored most goals, played as a team.

My heart wants Germs in the final even though they will have very tough challenge, the toughest until this time.

I believe Spain is tricky for Germs. Hoping they have solution.

Diving/playacting/cheating.....everybody does it. From every nation. I wish we could be mature enough to accept this rather than paint one nation as good and the other as evil. Players of all positions fake. It's not strange from a CB....any CB who just got beaten from an attacker to claim he was fouled in the process.

When Trinidad was beaten by England in the world cup Peter Crouch needed to pull down the CB by his hair to reach over him to head the ball.....if THAT isn't the most pathetic thing you ever heard...1)Crouch is like 10' taller than Sancho 2)Trinidad and Tobago are nobodies in world football where the Brits are the footie gods of the universe :rolleyes:

If Now Sancho dramatically fell down and rolled around a couple of times for good measure the ref may have taken notice and called back the goal for the FOUL in the box. My point is that some players KNOW that they have to get the ref's attention.

As Dru says, most dive these days. However it must me said the Premiership does if far less than other leagues. On the flip side of that though our players are awful at doing it. The only player who could dive without it being obvious was Pires.

We had a diving GK so Milan fans shouldnt even talk shit about teams simply coz some of their players dive.

I'll be suprised if there's more than 2 goals in this game. Germany have played on the counter so far, but Spain are a possession orientated team, so they can nullify Germany's attack.

The problem for Argentina was that they had no link between the midfield and attack, so pushed 1 or 2 more players forward and got done for it. After you go behind you fall in to the Germans plan.

Against England we were 1-0 pretty quickly as our defensive line was too far forward and positionally poor. Again the Germans could hit us on the counter at will.

I really hope Spain get an early goal so we can see what Germany are like when they are chasing the game.

i think that no one here is willing to admit, spain r no different than italy or other 'defensive teams'. Score one and play possession with no attempt to go on for more. Hey its effective, and i won't deny these things:

a)I dont mind most spanish players
b) i dont mind spanish style of play
c) i actually like the tactics of controlling possession. The 4 cm system of 4-2-2-2 or whatever you wanna claim they r playing (4-2-2-2 IMO) is effective if ur two attacking mids put in defensive work (sidenote.... why it never works w/ ronaldinho and kaka... neither do defense 1 bit). for me this is always more interesting play than 4-4-2 w/ flying wingers.

but don't go feeding me tired media bs that's constantly rammed down my thread about how they play "so beautiful" or my personal favorite "how football is meant ot be played".... when in realty they look for a goal and then play keep away in midfield, cause they r just technically superior passers. It's fine, but it's not the greatest thing since sliced break. They did it in euro 2008 v. germany in final and in all matches this tourney so far.

now on the opposite. IMO Germany has been most impressive team of tourney. They are only team who has had it in them to keep going for goals when up 1-0, 2-0. 2 straight 4 goal games and three 4 goal games in tourney show that. The way this germany plays, for me is a model i wish milan would look at or other club. Very interesting, well organized in attack and defense.

It's very rare that a team that deserves to win the WC wins it. 2006, 1998, 1982, and 1970 are the only instances IMO.

Have to agree with this. Statements made by their own players ("had we not won it wouldn't have been fair to football")...seriously they do have lots of good players that I like a lot, but that attittude by them and their press (funny enough, that attittude comes mostly from catalan players, but it's reflected on Madrid press, well NT level).

And yes I do believe what Spain has been playing in this WC is a variant of defensive football, scoring the goal, hogging the ball the rest of the game is a way of defending, there's nothing wrong with that, but people should be consequent by not whinning about Italy doing the same (probably not hogging possession, which at least makes games more intense), it's really not all that different. Just that one has been labeled by the media as "beautiful football" so regardless of how they do, they're beautiful, while the other is always "negative ugly football", even when they play nice it's "negative ugly football" (read germany-italy thread of 06').

Brazil sold the WC in 1998. I don't know what theory about this WC is real something very weird happened there.
