Was his birthday not yesterday?

Let's take a moment to remember just how good Nesta was.

"C'est parfait!"

Has anyone else than him and Maldini done such moves? Tackle and contain the ball... perfect

is hard to believe that a defense with Nesta, Maldini and Cannavaro never won anything.

Blame Del-Piero for missing two glaring chances in the Euro 2000 Final to see off France.

A bit off topic, but does everyone remember why Delvecchio started in that final? Was it because he had higher workrate than Montella and Pippo? It cant be the "big game player" label because Montella and Pippo around that time period already showed that they can score goals in the big occasions.

I dont recall Montella or Pippo being injured or suspended for the final.

Got nothing against Delvecchio and I know he did score, but Pippo started most of the Euro 2000 matches and did really well in the tournament as I recall it.

Official: Perugia appoint Nesta

Perugia have officially appointed former Milan and Italy defender Alessandro Nesta as their new Coach.

A statement on Perugia’s official website confirms Nesta has signed a contract until the end of the season and will be presented on Tuesday afternoon.

Consequently, the ex-Lazio stopper will guide the Grifoni through the Serie B playoffs.

It marks the 42-year-old’s first spell as a Coach in Italy, having only previously managed second-tier American side Miami FC.

Coaching Perugia in Serie B, not having the best of times though.

10th place with a -1 GD so far.

Is he a good coach, or do he got potential to become one?

Some are very easy to see from the beginning, such as Simone Inzaghi. On the other hand, you got the other Inzaghi.

Nesta's Frosinone are in the Serie B promotion play-off Final against Spezia!

Should they win, next season's Serie A could have these guys as managers :proud:

His Frosinone team plays pretty coherently, and have earned good reviews for how he has communicated his ideas to his team.

They did have a really rough slide at the end of the season (think they went from 2nd to 8th) but seem to have figured it out in the playoffs.

Regardless of if they go up, would love to see Gabbia get loaned there next season to play for him.
