Milan ‘make’ Oddo bid Wednesday 29 March, 2006

Milan have made an official move for Lazio full-back Massimo Oddo, according to reports in Italy.

The Rossoneri have been linked with the Italian for some time and a bid is now believed to have been tabled.

Milan are in need of a new right-back given that Jaap Stam has agreed to join Ajax, while Marcos Cafu is being associated with a return to Sao Paulo. Click Here From Channel.com

I know a lot of you would like Oddo here, however I'd still rather Bonera or Zaccardo as RB with one of either Lugano, Chivu or Barzagli to come as well.All of these players are 25 years old or under and would be HUGE investments for Milan.

Btw back to the topic, I don't think we should sign him. He is.. well... kinda old. I prefer younger ones..

whilst investin' in younger players wud be a gd move... wif the likes of Bonera & Zaccardo... big match experience esp in europe wud prove vital if Milan wants to perform well again next season in the champions league...

Oddo tho not my fave choice of signin'... does hv the necessary experience hvin' represented Italy at the national lvl...

personally i think Simic shld be given a go wif MUCH more playin' time... how r we to entice players over to Milan if all we do to our new signin' is lettin' them warm the bench? i feel if given more playin' time... Simic wud prove to be more than a capable replacement for the departin' Cafu... i feel if next season all Simic does is warm the bench... he mite consider his options... and who is to blame him?

If Oddo can come to Milan, that means our RB is good at attacking, so our LB doesn't need to attack so much :

This is not bad. Because if Maldini pay most attention in defense, he is still one of the best defedners. Kaladze + Nesta had proved they are the best, and if we have Oddo, it will be perfect !!!

By the way, last week Oddo scored 2 goals help Lazio win Serie A game !

i had never seen Lazio's game in this season, but according to some news about Lazio's game recently, i think his play is good.....

About if he is the first choice of Italy, it depends on Lippi. But for me, i think he is the first choice.

Well since I live in USA... I get to watch Lazio games a lot on FSC.
Oddo is not a MILAN TYPE PLAYER, if ya know what I mean + he's gettin' old.

Massimo Oddo confirms he is the latest Lazio player looking for a more prestigious summer move, with all likelihood to Milan.

“I have a contract with Lazio, but a player always needs new motivation,” said the right-back from Italy’s get-together at the Borghesiana training ground.

“I want to play for an important club, one that is challenging for the Champions League, and be able to win some silverware in my career.”

Oddo has been repeatedly linked with Milan over the past few months as the heir to Marcos Cafu, although there is also interest from Juventus.

President Claudio Lotito has made it clear on several occasions that he does not wish to sell the defender, but there is hope for a consensual parting of the ways.

“It would be great to achieve that career advancement, but it all depends on Lazio. I do not feel like a prisoner here, even if there is a general feeling of uncertainty.”

The Biancocelesti are in turmoil, as Fabio Liverani is heading towards Fiorentina on a free transfer, Ousmane Dabo is in advanced negotiations with Manchester City and Paolo Di Canio aimed a furious radio tirade at Lotito over delays in his contract renewal.

Meanwhile, Oddo is on track to be part of Marcello Lippi’s Azzurri party going to the 2006 World Cup in Germany.

“I am happy to be here and Lippi knows what I can give to the side. There’s not long to wait now for the full squad to be announced, so I’m only focusing on working hard.”

Italy Coach Lippi must unveil his list of 23 World Cup names on May 15.
