great intro to the new commode wesley
the dream remains - soriano, isco & ibra.
if we close the Soriano deal today, we'd have spent 93m euro... we've had sales of about 20m. (SES = 18m)
if the rumours were true that we have had 150 mil to spend..then we could expect a nice signing like Isco for around 30m. Real bought Kovacic for 30mil, he seems to be a great player to replace Isco. I doubt they'd be that disappointed given their options. I mean we were linked with Rafinha Alcantara and Sissoko, these guys are much better players than Witsel and Soriano, we definitely know what talent is, I just hope we go for it. We've been ignoring the midfield for way too long, it's time we address it and I'm glad that we're bringing in Soriano for depth. He's the sort of player that could be on CL winning squads, just not in CL winning lineups. He offers different qualities and characteristics than any of our players, he's young and an Italy NT. Him coming here though can put his chances for the Euros at risk because if we do sign a star midfielder then Soriano will be on the bench....unless he's replacing Honda which IMO would be a bad move.
Signing Soriano for 10m as the last Milan purchase just doesn't feel so Milan-esque. Especially not a Berlusconi kind of way to end the market, especially after the promises the management and Silvio have been making. I think Ibra will come though, but Soriano + Ibra alone is just......not enough. I feel there's no way we're signing 2 midfielders, that's the only reason I'm not very happy with the Soriano deal. If we are guaranteed to sign a new starting mf, then Soriano is a good deal for sure.
Awaiting Ibra...and hopefully that one midfielder that can take us a class higher just like how Zlatan can make us a class higher.
