Italy's weakness seems to be in the midfield. Verrati has been awful. Jorginho should be in this team.

this time little buffon could do

last year Conte pulled a masterclass vs Spain. Ventura was a terrible choice imo. Playing with 2 midfielders against Spain was a disaster, despite the fact that they needed to win.

Really poor half from Italy. Bad tactical choice to go with a bland 4-4-2 (which doesnt suit either Verratti or De Rossi), Darmian is not close to this level, defensive structure completely shit..

Ventura will have to bring on Conti for Darmian. Then either Rugani for Candreva and go 3-5-2 or keep on with 4-4-2 but with some movement between lines and not in the current EPL of the 90s style.

Buffon needs to be benched, could've saved at least 1 goal. Plus, his footwork is even worse than Dollar's.

0-0 doesn't help right.. Spain will obviously be ahead on GD. A draw or a loss both mean the same to Italy. They'll finish 2nd.

To get back into this game he needs to bring on a two way midfielder like Parolo for Immobile to get some presence and numbers in the midfield......And please take off Candreva for absolutely anyone......he is atrocious

Ventura is the sort of manager who wont hesitate to drop Buffon. That's the one positive about him.. does not mind bringing on in-form young players ahead of famous veterans.

I can totally see Donnarumma starting the remaining 3 qualifiers.

Verratti and De Rossi just don't have the legs to cover such an immense amount of ground......unless you have two prime Patrick Vieira's this basic 424 shit will get you overrun in midfield, and even if you did have two prime Vieira's today, Spain would overrun them as well......add in another fucking midfielder Ventura you total moron

What was Bonucci doing on the second goal? Instead of going in strong on the block, he turned around to get the best view of the goal.

Both Barzagli and Bonucci shouldn't be starting for Italy if it's a 4 men defence. Barzagli is old as hell and Bonucci's biggest quality is passing as he's just average on defending. Rugani and Romagnoli should start to be eased in.

De Rossi is getting old as well. No need for 2 strikers here it should've been a 4-4-3.

The sterile Generation (26-32, the Candrevas, Montolivos, D'ambrosio, Astoris...) who were supposed to be the core of the team. they're average at best...only as few came good.

The young generation looks promising, but will need a few years of playing together and cement themselves. become the core of the team.
they seem to be represented in attack. when the dinausors leave (de rossi, Buffon, Chiellini, Barzagli) and they take full control of other parts of the team, then shit will get going

So far:

- Buffon looks past it.

- Darmian? he does not even start for United.

- Spinazzola? Really?

- Immobile? Belotti at least looks like wants it but Immobile looks like a fish out of water.

- Insigne? Dreadful would best the best thing we can call his performance.

- Candreva? Same as Abate. Can beat his man but cannot cross at all.

You know that was on De Rossi or Verrati. Bonucci has been bad tbh but you cannot blame that goal on him.

Also a bald David Silva is very strange.
