Cassano and De Rossi have had a good impact. Rossi is still off the pace a little, but he should make the squad.

Some of the football between De Rossi, Verratti and Cassano has been very good. Marchisio has had a decent performance but his finishing has been poor. Parolo has been pretty good as well.

Decent game. We had the majority of the play and Verratti stood out. We were really missing Chiellini though... No doubt about it.

the whole defense was shaky at times, and there is no point to point at one player, because they literally all had their shaky moments, but nothing bad happend expect for some chances were Sirigu did some amazing saves.
In the end we didn't create that much, so in the WC it has to be better but I'm optimistic

I think Darmian was losing out quite a lot defensively but was better going forward, while DES was pretty much the opposite. Palletta was okay, but Bonucci was pretty awful at times and I would usually prefer Bonucci to the likes of Barzagli etc.

Long was brilliant for us.
He gave Bonucci nightmares.
That moment where he flattened him with a shoulder { a bit of his hurling background coming out
}We created the better chances and were unlucky not to get the win over the Italians.
De Sciglio was solid
Just a shame about Monto.

- Nah. Casano was easily the best man for Italy.
- Verrati did pretty good. When pressured, he kept giving the ball away and creating counters for Ireland though.
- Darmian good offensively, not so good defensively.
- DeSciglio cool as always however needs to be more focused when returning from attack. Chielini instead of Bonucci would give more calm to Italy.
- Motta easily the worst man of the match.
- Montolivo? I hope he is ok.
- Paletta? Some good plays, some really bad.
- Bonucci? Owned by Shane Long all night.
- Parolo? He was OK.
- Marchisio? Showed why he is not a starter for Italy. If Monty is out, he will probable will start nest to Pirlo and DeRossi.

our defense compared to the 2006 squad looks really awful

Verratti can deliver some long balls
but he needs to understand that those aren't always the best solution
and he has to be quicker to give the ball sometimes
but he's very talented and I expect some playtime for him
