Just sell as much of the current team as you can in the summer and build this team with as many of these free guys as you can. Put all transfer sales towards paying their salaries lol. Back in the CL for sure next year.

Ibra (free)-Cavani/Mertens (free)
Eriksen/Silva/Gotze (free)
Modric (free)-Matic/Soumare (free)-Rakitic (transfer)
Theo-Rom-Silva (free)-Meunier (free)
Donna

I cannot imagine Ibra coming and taking one of the remaining available squad numbers. Hakan's wife is probably receiving daily photos of Zlatan's hammer until her husband relinquishes the #10

There are two things we need from Ibra - his finishing and target/holdup play in and around the box.
Ibra doesn't have the energy to play like he used to in 2012. He's pretty much a static 9 these days.
What you're suggesting seems to be even more exhausting than his previous role, and even further away from the box.
The likes of Theo and Paqueta are already getting scoring chances which usually render into a counter-attack for the opponents. We need attackers who can score. The fullbacks and midfielders are pushing up and looking to score too much as it is.

With that said, what's the point of signing Ibra in January, giving him 6m net for 5-6 months?
Let's say he immediately turns it around for the team, having the team average the same amount of points(2.1 p/g) as in his last Milan season. It's very unrealistic, but let's say he did. It would still most likely not be enough for a Top 4 spot.

The season is doomed. This is not the moment for a 6 month, expensive stop-gap that will probably further devalue Piatek in the market.
He will leave us in a worse state.

Look at it from the other perspective. The only way to genuinely target top 4 this season is by signing 3-4 top level players who can immediately start. A DM at the peak of his game, a CB who can defend next to Romagnoli, a striker who can start scoring from the first game in January, a real goalscoring winger on the right flank..

That's not going to happen with the resources available to Milan.

Therefore, the best way to make a statement (while probably still missing out on top 4) is what the management is trying to do. Thus, signing Zlatan.

Pioli is a manager with no particular philosophy. He's going to play Ibraball, which could still get us a 'respectable' 6th-7th spot, maybe 6-8 points behind the 4th spot team, which might just about give Maldini and Boban another year at the job. Without winter interventions, I can absolutely see us finishing 10th-12th this season.

This club is obsessed with strikers and recently with CB's... meanwhile, our mid and winger position are cancerously bad. Add there RB either but hey we need to attacareeee!!!. :o
What we're hearing in media... striker, striker, striker, Demirel, Rugani, striker, striker, Demiral, just sometimes rumor about MF came out. We're looking for strikers for decades, every single mercato.

Caldara looks fine and healthy on trainings and his muscles are on point. From that point of view, everything seems ok. :o

But his form might be worrisome, he needs to play regulary after winter break, no matter what. Personally, I still believe in him.

Btw, Demiral plays in one of the best clubs in the world (+Turkey NT) so I guess that price tag is fair. Tbh, 30m looks like a steal.
Fair enough, but when did Demiral play for the best Team in Italy? :)

That would be nice

It wud be a fitting end to his career. The trophy he mosted wanted with the club he loves the most. Nice symmetry, too, our downfall started with his departure and our restoration also on his return.

This is my hope if we get Zlatan. He would be the player we look for as an outball obviously, with players breaking into the space behind him as he draws defenders. I really don't see Zlatan being the spearhead of our attacks. Leao and Piatek will still play up front. Playing 352 gives more balance and protects the wingbacks. Having both Suso and Zlatan in the same team is overkill you only need one of them. Hopefully the plan is to finally sell Suso so we can move into this new shape. Getting Zlatan, although he's slow, will turn us into a faster counterattacking team. This is because we finally will have a player able to consistently trap long balls from deep and transition them quickly into attacks, with Theo, Paqueta, Krunic, Leao, Conti and even Kessie being very good at this. This is why I always wanted Sergej Milinkovic Savic, he's the best player in Serie A that's able to do this, along with maybe Dzeko. Our team would have a very unified strategy. Defend in a man marking system and attack quickly by looking for Zlatan and letting him control the ball and then release it to the army of fast, direct runners that would attack the space around him. This can't work with players like Suso, Jack and Hakan, who want the ball to feet.
Good work

Read a rumor that Ibrahimovic will earn 10M/year + incentives including the #10 shirt and Hakan’s wife.

Ibra likes older women like his wife Helena.

We have best city in the world; she really likes Italy and they want to settle here after his retirement.

Zero chance to win UCL next year if we somehow actually play there  Half of the squad will new to this tournament - Donna, Roma, Bennacer, etc. We will also be in pot 4. It would be a miracle if we even make it to the knock-out phase

Gianluca Di Marzio, Sky Sport market expert, took stock of the Milan-Ibrahimovic negotiations: "There were new contacts, in which Milan formalized the proposal which he discussed yesterday with Raiola. The Rossoneri have come out and this is already news. I think there are the wills of the parties, the economic aspects must coincide and it is not a minor detail. Milan is willing to give him the contract of a year and a half. The distance between the requests and the there is an initial proposal and it is important, and if there is the will to come together, in the next appointment we will understand something more, it will depend on Ibra and on what he wants to do, also deciding according to priorities: if it is more a question of money, of nation, of city, of team, of project. On Zlatan there is also Bologna, besides Milan, then there is an interest of Napoli that has not yet been formalized for the moment, but it is a thought of the president, already manifested to the Italian-Dutch agent is abroad, he will return to Italy between Wednesday and Thursday and next week he will understand the real feasibility of this operation. Milan would like him to train immediately in December, if Ibra accepted the proposal. The operation remains complicated, the parties filter this. Milan also made a phone call to Giroud's agents, on which there is Inter. This shows that it is not safe to take Ibra, but it is a signal that the club wants to try to take an experienced striker ".

Ibra can provide leadership, and if anything, bring back attention to Milan, which can help attract the players we need to choose coming to Milan over other options.

Also, to be fair to Maldini and Boban, it doesn't seem like any of their player purchases have been failures. Rebic cost us nothing, otherwise, Theo, Bennacer, Duarte, Krunic, and Leao have all looked good. Giampaolo is on them, sure, but who thought Giampaolo would fuck up that badly? They got rid of him, and now they're trying to fix it.

Ibra might not work out, but Ibra's reputation is at stake here more than Milan's. Milan is rebuilding, Ibra would reach superhero status if he can help speed that process up.
