That reminds me I can't look at a Sprite without thinking about Grant Hill.

Nothing against All Star weekend, but at the end of the day, the individual skills contests nor the game itself shows anything about the character of the players, its nice and fun but that's it. The nice thing about the All Star game is a) recognition of fans when you get voted for the team b) recognition of coaches when you make it to the bench c) just chilling for a weekend with the biggest names of the league all in one place.

Lebron had all eyes on him last year at a finals after failing a year before. He took it to another level in the biggest stage, bigger than the dunk contest, he showed up...I dunno, not participating in a dunk constest to show that he's a pussy is a terrible argument, just clutching at straws to keep calling him a coward. And worse yet to say Lebron is all team and no individual cause he's a pussy, he's in the NBA, playing with a team, he's no street baller or part of City Slam that has to show off his skills.

And I'm not Lebron's biggest fan, I certainly had my laughs in 2011 with Miami losing, but credit where its due, he bounced back from that and in a huge way, no one that hides back does that.

the problem with criticising lebron is that he has turned into a horrifying monster that is eating everyone alive

The thing with 2011 is it was their first year together. You don't build chemistry overnight. How many years did it take shaq/Kobe or mj/pippen. Pippen was a multi time Allstar and among best at his position for years before they finally won a title.

Btw spurs are looking scary again. I think if playoffs started today they take okc.

2011 has no excuse even if senatore might try to rewrite the basketball history in this thread

MJ in his dying bed will show more fire than that

You don't even need 2011. He quit on Cleveland a couple of times as well.

I think he knows basketball but he payed for controversy. He hates Lebron though with a passion.

eh....

skip was a full-time sports writer in the bay area before ESPN fame. I read his shit, he was nothing special.

By far best source for NBA news is Zach Lowe.....

Marc Spears is cool too...
I like David Aldridge and Adrian Woj a bit too

-

No one on TV is worth a damn, only good ones are online.

Lowe won't be at Grantland much longer though, guarentee an NBA team will hire him with in 3 years

Kenyon Martin back....hasn't he been out of the league for about 3 years?

he was a back up for clips last year

remember he went to china during lock out, and signed w/ clippers prolly march 1 or something in that realm. Was key in their playoff rotation. He was in crunch time over Blake

speak of the devil. My main, Zach Lowe.

His stuff is soooo good. He's imo perfect blend of statistican analysis (and understanding it...) and tactical insite (he's insanely good at breaking down schemes... almonst senatore levels)
-

Morey's one of smartest GMs in league. Always destroys teams in trades.

What he's done is brilliant, he's just spent years compiling assets.. cheap contracts, young players, a lot of picks.

Putting himself in position to have massive flexibility so he can make a move for Harden when opportnity presents itself.

I still think, if Dwights smart (and we all know he's not), he'll go to houston

ASlso Kevin McHale.... really surprising me as a coach.

Always liked him as a person talking bball, but I didn't think he'd be this good.

Also cause team plays literally pposite to style of bball he played. Only similarity is they share ball well

watch rockets go for either bynum or howard.
Kevin mchale would love them. He always said that he would love a big man on his team and play inside out.

There's no secret they'll try

Howard is still a monster if he gets healthy and bigs are so ridiculously rare.

And for all his "bad" play. He's leading centers in scoring, league in rebounding and blocks and his defensive on/off impact is still huge. You think lakers are bad on d with him. Go look at numbers without. Zero wins. Insane points given up

A Howard/harden combo immediately puts Houston as a western conference contender.

Also consider fact they got a lot of young talent including Thomas Robinson. The 5th pick who most scouts still love

In other words. Guys like him can develop OR be traded for value

-

All that said. I would be shocked if Howard went even though its best situation for him

21 NBA scouts (one GM, Sam Presti) here in Boulogne, France to see Rudy Gobert match up with Mam Jaiteh.

There's a real chance OKC takes Gobert with Toronto's pick.

Just what they need, an extremely athletic 7 footer who blocks shots and has a high ceiling of development.

Argh
