Well Boca can still lose it in the second leg...but damn I want revenge, I still remember when I was part of other forum and all the argies went on saying "we beat you, we, the poor, beat you the rich ones", "our players love the shirt", and other bs stuff.

Hey can't say I haven't seen that before...aside from us, Boca also lost their championship last season (2006) in a really heartbreaking fashion for their fans, after having everything to win it, they just needed a win in one of their last 3 games, if I'm not mistaken.

Riquelme nailed the cup for Boca in the second game so we have a chance for revenge at the clubs world cup competition. Celebrations can be viewed here

Not surprised. Gremio is a really bad team TBH, and their best players were injured. We will get our revenge (well actually we have to beat a team before meeting them + Boca also has to beat another team to reach the final, which both teams are likely to get, but I still don't want to feel a winner...).

Well, I've decided to dig up this old thread because Copa Libertadores is back and it's now on the interesting Last 16 phase (Group phase wasn't that good) that's bringing very good matches.

the matches are:

Tuesday:

Lanús (Arg) vs Atlas (Mex)

LDU de Quito (Ecu) vs Estudiantes LP (Arg)

Wednesday:

San Lorenzo (Arg) vs River Plate (Arg)

Boca Jrs (Arg) vs Cruzeiro (Bra)

América (Mex) vs Flamengo (Bra)

Nacional de Montevideo (Uru) vs São Paulo (Bra)

Atletico Nacional (Col) vs Fluminense (Bra)

Thursday:

Santos (Bra) vs Cucuta (Col)

I'll try to post the results with the goals' videos later...

the best part is the semifinals that could happen...
River Plate vs Boca Jrs and Flamengo vs Fluminense, now those would be HOT seminfinals

I think the most interesting game will be Cruzeiro and Boca.
Cruzeiro are on a high wave now.
São Paulo had better days, they're depending on score from aerial plays a lot now, for that Jorge Vagner and Adriano are fundamental players for them. But anyway, they're a strong team, I think they'll go through. My doubts rests upon Santos and Flamengo, but the latter has Renato Augusto, who can make a big difference, I like him.

I think River Plate vs San Lorenzo is the most interesting

River's top of the league and San Lorenzo is 3 points behind and they just won against boca jrs

although for this match, the first game will be important for River to get a good result to have a better week as the classic River - boca is on Sunday and then Wednesday is the second game with San Lorenzo

Half Time:

Lanús 0 - 1 Atlas
Marioni (Atlas)

what a classy goal with the heel... great game by Atlas, I'm proud of them, hopefully they'll keep it up :)

They are showing the River game on tv live in the UK!!!!
Lets hope Buonanotte can show some more of his class!!
The only other game they showed on tv here was the one against Catolica, and Buonanotte was a legend in that.

he has just scored 2 goals on Sunday vs Argentinos... classy goals
but it's thought that Simeone won't play him to keep him rested and knock free for the clasico this Sunday

I saw the goal videos, but i cant watch the entire game, and just the goal videos doesnt really tell me everything about his game. I was hoping to watch another full length game from him tonite.

Well itll tune in and watch it anyway of course...i havent seen a river game on anything but a shitty internet stream since the catolica game. cant wait for it to start on tv!

2-0 already for them. Cruzeiro really needs to score a goal now and don't let any other go in on their net! :head:

I like boca myself. I wouldnt mind seeing palacio come over to Milan. He's probably better suited for spain anyway though.

Is alexis Sanchez playing for River? I have heard he is an immense talent, any of you river fans care to respond/elaborate?

Maradona, Riquelme, Tevez, Batistuta, Killy, Veron, Samuel and many many more...

Maradroga played in youth and more years in professional with Argentinos than with bosta
Batistuta played for River before playing for bosta
Killy played in youth with Rosario Central and has played more with them
Veron played in youth with Estudiantes LP and played more years with them

he is talented and really helps make a mess of the opposing team and he really helps a lot in the recovery
but, when he plays offensively he mostly looks at the ball and he should look up more
River is trying to keep him for another semester

I didn't mark them as Boca's youth products, I just named some superstars that played there. ;)

I meant it as that they should be consider of the other teams... they're more those teams than bosta
although maradroga is a gold digger and goes with the team that will kiss his feet and ass

yeah i know he is an udinese player. I listened to a couple interviews with Tim Vickery (bbc sports covers south america) and read something else, basically thinking VERY highly of him, and that he'll be a future star in europe

FT 2-1 to Boca.
That's a good result for Cruzeiro, that will play the second leg at home.

And btw, Boca is shit. HTH. :D

their second goal was offside by like 20 cm  they're always helped by referees

Was the second ref hurt because something from the stands hit him?
'Cause if that's the case, it gonna be pathetic if CONMEBOL don't act on it.

Sure was, he got hit in the head by a rock that was thrown from the stands. The head ref suspended play. Not sure when the game will be finished.

San Lorenzo 1 - 1 River Plate at HT

Silvera (SL)
Falcao (RP)

I loved Falcao's goal, great header and a good play
Simeone shouldn't have played Gustavo Cabral at defense, he was injured and Nicolas Sanchez did all the work during the training
Cabral is really good, but he's looking slow now cause he's not 100%, he was very involved in SL's goal...so I think Nico Sanchez should def come in and that wouldn't be a bad choice, this guy is good

:( how sad it is to watch D'Alessandro play against River

I think he already finished. I mean, the game was on injury time already.

I'm not into ref ranting, but this Boca vs. Cruzeiro game was ridiculous. The first half was a circus, the ref would call fouls on Boca players every single time they were touched just to amuse the crowd, and the fouls on Cruzeiro's players were never called. There was also a clear handball in Boca's box not called in the end of the first half, and the second Boca goal was offside.

Having said that, Boca deserved the win, but it's still a good result for Cruzeiro. I won't miss going to Mineirão in the second leg for anything in this world.
