I'd even settle for a Vargas type player, (Cantania) runs for days and always gives fits to defenders from a wide position. A Danny Alves type player is another that could do well in the position described.

well,i think oddo wouldn`t be too bad if he was moved to that position,i saw him a couple of times taking on the defender and getting past him and he could do that more often if he was playing in the midfield..so in that aspect of the game (in the attack) he would be a huge upgrade on rino who can`t do almost anything in the attack..
also,oddo is pretty fast and he is good in defense,so he could be the ball winner in the midfield (although the ball winner is not really needed too much when playing against small sides,because they only attack on counter,and our "defensive" fullbacks + cbs could do the job well in my opinion)..
as for crosses and shots,he really should improve that aspect of his game..

cafu could be used as an impact sub as he still has some pace,but just has no stamina in my opinion..
his crosses are not bad,and his ball control is good..

and i just got an idea,maybe we could even use pato in that position sometimes,of course he shouldn`t be given any defensive work in that case..
the solution for a more defensive-minded midfield to cover up for pato would be playing ambro or rino instead of janku/gour..

otherwise, idea about janku like a wing without so much defending issue isnt so bad at all. much better in attack than oddo.

i think darmian and bruscagin got called up for the U-19 italian team... i think both of them are defenders but i dont know a thing about them

also, although pato is fast and has good foot skills, i don't know how good his crossing ability is. i believe he is used to playing in the middle of the field and would make a better CAM than winger, although he is still young and perhaps could adapt.

i agree that we dont need both ambro and gattuso on the pitch at the same time

as for wingers, seedorf appears to be able to drive in decent crosses sometimes and has good foot skills but he doesnt have blazing speed
i think oddo should stay at right back because hes more useful defensively

i think janku, gourkie, and maybe pirlo could play the wing if we decide to not buy any new players this summer, which would be foolish IMO

Well, since there isn't much to talk about nowadays, other than obvious of course, I took time to name my Milan squad over the past 20 years, in an attempt to raise our standards, since we should still demand to be accustomed to world class players in every position, and anything less (or more, in the case of you know who

) shouldn't be tolerated. I remember there being a thread specific to All-time Milan squads and lineups, but I can't seem to find it. Apologies in advance if necessary ...

Of course there are others who I haven't seen much of and hence, don't have much confidence using their illustrious names, but I've seen enough of the late 80s and early 90s squads to bring up a few names. The squad contains most players from these two generations, and some from the last five years ... Paolo and Billy astonishingly being present in all three generations.

With this formation we could have one holding midfielder in either Pirlo or Gattuso, and Van Der Vaart, kaka and Seedorf getting forward with Pato and Shevchenko.

great ideas guys, but honestly I cannot see Milan signing that many players over one summer...

Even though I hate to say this I believe it is in the best interest of the team...
