I really can't believe Ancelotti is doing what he is doing. Keep in mind that Ancelotti is a student of Arrigo Sacchi. Sacchi was alergic to the playmaker role as well. Sacchi was defensive tactician, and for those of you who were milan supporters in the late 80s and early 90s will know that even with Van basten and Gullit, Milan's strength was a dfensive bunker built around Baresi and Maldini....add in a young Costacurta and a destructive Tassotti and well.......you might have the finest defense any club has ever seen in the last 100 years. But, I mean to field Pirlo where Ancelotti has, and make room for Rivaldo and Rui Costa on the pitch at the same time.......WHOA!!!!!!!!!!! It seems Carletto has had a bit of a rebirth of sorts, or maybe Galliani has given him no chance but to be an attacking tactician. Either way, I am satisfied. Here is the 1 problem I have though. When Sheva Returns.,.......who gets benched? Surely you can't bench Pippo or Rui at this point....cause both are playing in world class fashion. I guess it would be either Rivaldo or Sheva himself. Either which way, we have a solid rotation for the midfield and attack. Pirlo, Rino, and Ambro as the starters, then you have Seedorf, Serginho, Brocchi, and Dalla Bona to move around with. In attack, the options are always there, especially when we are at full health. But here is my starting lineup.......(and would you believe it? It, for the first time, is the same as Carletto's!)
Abbiatti
Kaladze
Maldini
Nesta
Simic
Rino
Pirlo
Ambro
Rui
Pippo
Rivaldo
