we were sick since we returned from vacation (better than being sick while on vacation i suppose) so we have been huddled up in the house watching movies the past 10 days...

with the little one we watched...
toy story 1 - great
toy story 2 - super great
toy story 3 - i actually teared up during this movie
the incredibles - awesome...i could watch this movie every day
despicable me - had its funny moments
wall-e - great

we also watched a lot of pixar short films...and they are mostly awesome. off the top of my head some of the best are...
la luna - really sweet
jack jack attack - hilarious
one man band
day&night

i've also watched the imposter - this was a documentary and it blew me away. a must see

La vie d'Adèle is pretty good (english title is Blue is the warmest color or something, much better than the original title).

Usually books are vs movies. But idk,i prefer books to movies but (not saying it was terrible) but i simply could not get into the book,stopped 1/4 of the way.

On a different side note, gravity was a pretty decent movie, solid 7.

saw it twice at the cinema, didn't regret at all. Great visualization on top of the effects. Might have done better if they used lesser known cast but still solid performance.

watched primer last night. what an infinite load of bullcrap. the premise was good, but i've never watched another movie so poorly executed. a complicated story like that should have been told way better and slower. i literally had to spend 30mins on youtube videos after watching that crap to understand where my 1h 20mins of life went.

The Diving Bell and the Butterfly. Very nice story about a guy who is paralyzed all over his body except one eye.

Gainsbourg: A Heroic Life. At first I managed to chew ~30 minutes of it and wasn't optimistic. Second time I added odd 15 minutes thinking I would probably end up deleting it. But for some reason gave it a third try and fell into it. Watched it until the end and ended up looking the first minutes again. I guess it was because in the end the director says[possible spoiler/possible info of how to subject the movie]: "I love Gainsbourg too much to return him to life. I prefer his inventions to the truth" and I was expecting semi-documentary type piece. The movie has a similar romance for insanity as "Fear and Loathing" and maybe too inconsistent like "Where the Buffalo Roam". The breakpoint for me was also when the familiar music career started. Not sure if I'd recommend this to MB, but surely would bring it up in artistic circles. (Gainsbourg in a Lincoln on the beach with a gun ... so comical :lol:

I watched Gravity last night ... and wow man..i haven't been both terrified and amazed by a movie in such a long time. The last movie, that probably had the same effect on me, was Jurassic Park. This movie kept me on the edge of my seat throughout its intense moments. At the same time, i was wowed by its stunning visuals, which looked truly spectacular to behold. This film will be remembered for a long time, that's for sure.

Incredible film, didn't expect it to be as funny as it was. Makes me want to take up drugs and prostitutes

If you're easily offended/disgusted don't bother watching it, though.
