Lazio’s Matteo Sereni is the latest goalkeeper to be linked with a January move to Italian giants Milan.

The Rossoneri are expected to sign a new shot-stopper after Nelson Dida picked up a knee injury at AEK Athens in midweek.

The Brazilian international will definitely be out for at least two months, but could also be sidelined for as many as four.

With that in mind Milan are looking for a custodian and Sereni is a realistic target for a New Year loan move.

Sereni, 31, is only a back-up at the Stadio Olimpico as Lazio boss Delio Rossi prefers veteran No 1 Angelo Peruzzi.

The former Ipswich man would come with the added bonus of being eligible to play in the Champions League.

Milan have also been paired with Livorno’s Marco Amelia, yet his use in the UEFA Cup this term means he wouldn’t be able to feature in Europe’s premier club competition.

Sereni's a gun.

i checked and found out that despite playin' for Livorno in the Uefa Cup... Amelia is actually available to play in the CL from Feb onwards... as for Sereni... he is a reliable GK... but ever since his Brescia days... he doesn't play often...

Hey let's keep Kalac. he's the only keeper that's in the first team and not conceded in the whole of Seria A

Great and he is young and improving and wants to join Milan. Hope we sign him.

As a 2nd or 3rd goalie, Sereni would be fine..As a Dida replacement-hell no!

He screwed up royally with those 3 goals but it was probably rather harsh to ditch him like that.

He's actually a product of our youth system :eek:

there's actually 4 kids from there including Facchin ( Darmian, Aubameyang and Lunati) are the others in the squad.

Back to the topic...Even though we're not making any moves ( supposedly) until the end of the season I'd be psyched to have Sereni as our #2.
