Deserved victory and a very creditable turnaround by the team. It isn't easy to recover from mental blows like Betis and Inter, not to mention the media scrutiny, but the team did really really well. Everyone played better (still not at the fluid level we were against Olympiakos and Chievo), but against one of the toughest defences in the league, we won by scoring 3 goals.

More than everything, Forza Rino. You are what Milan is all about

If we beat Genoa in game-in-hand, and Inter vs. Lazio is a draw, we're 1pt from 4th and 2pts from 3rd?

We "grinted" through. A lot of improvement is needed, but I'm proud of our boys.

Never doubted the win even for a second

#GattusoIN

Fuck all the haters!

Yeah, this is it. We're not getting a win today. As soon as these motherfuckers start passing back towards the gk it becomes inevitable that we will concede more goals. Watch it happen

It was the right sub to make.

We needed to be more proactive, have more running. If he took off Laxalt and put on Zapata or something, he would have been crucified, and for good measure.

Proactive what. Hakan doesn’t run and isn’t exactly known for his amazing defending, as well he was half injured. So keep Laxalt on. I think Laxalt should stay back more. We need to be lop sided similar to France. Laxalt almost falls into the midfield 3. Suso can go up. And if need be Kessie covers him.

tbh Giampaolo would be good for our team, we just won cause we have a better squad, samp always feels like a team that knows its strong sides and knows what they should be doing.

442 looked compact, less space between lines, very good at finding empty space. But Kessie needs to learn how to play less vertically. double pivot midfielder is much more tactical position, he needs to improve positioning and passing

Lol. The Gattuso haters are trying.

We put 3 past the defense in Italy. We should've scored a lot more.

Their keeper made this game look close. Our defense played much much better in the second half. Donna really didn't have saves to make.

If we get rid of Donna, this keeper looks like a great option if he keeps this up. Really impressive player.

Yes.

But you can't even consider that game as a potential 3 points. We may lose it after all.

We are shit at defending. We should not sit back. That is one point where everyone rightly slates Gattuso. He loses the impetus in matches and we concede late.

Hakan does run (and clearly did after being subbed on). He works extremely hard defensively and always tracks back. He was even behind Rodriguez mostly when he came on.

Who would you have subbed on?

Yes we bad at defending, but Gattuso set out defend. So put the best players to do that. If we attacking, out the best to do so. That would be Hakan.

I wouldn’t have made a sub. Kept it the same.

week after week, Calabria is the main reason for our conceded goals, this for two years, and yet there are people who still consider him an upcoming talent etc etc. He is a disaster and can't wait to have him replaced. Not even good enough as a backup

He's really not this disaster.

The first goal you could put him at fault, but, it was also a really good shot, and the bigger problem is that we give these gaps between our midfield and defense for passes like that to happen.

The second goal was more on Musa to be honest, he kept Quag on, while Calabria was holding the off-side line.

The defense looked so much better in the second half though, you have to give Gattuso and the team credit for the second half performance defensively.

Buske is not even a Suso supporter, yet barks so fucking loud every time Suso scores. He likes all Spaniards, that's about it. Fucking fake piece of shit.

Summary:

- A win is a win, 3 points was the only result that mattered.

- Gigio? IMO, he could have done more in Sampdoria's goals.

- Calabria? As poor as usual in defense. On the first one got schooled by Saponara and the second one he got outpaced by "old man Quagliarella " even though he was marking him and let him have a free run whether Musachio was making the play legal or not.

- Musachio? Ups and downs. Bad first half, better second half.

- Romagnoli? He is our rock in defense.

- Rodriguez? A complete game from Ricardo.

- Biglia ? Same as Musachio.

- Kessie? Same as Biglia.

- Suso? Good game but he does not understand the word counter-attack.

- Laxalt? Technically not great but how much of a difference instead of Messi Bonaventura hogging the ball for the whole game.

- Higuain? Showed the fire.

- Cutrone? Kid is the heart of this team.

- Gattuso? He looked like he was going to have a heart attack or kill somebody or both at the same time.

- Subs? Not need to be mentioned.

- Sampdoria? I gotta thank them for playing such an open game because if they had a team that pressured you in the buildup we would have been in trouble. On the other hand, not only Saponara showed how a midfield can function with a 1-touch and pass the ball to a teammate works but also they showed how to attack the weak points of the other teams when it is need it instead of extra buildup.

Was nice to see hunger from the squad again despite not playing a particularly beautiful game. Cutrone is crucial to us plus he really instills that urgency when he's on the field.the entire squad benefits from his presence.

Our defense needs to iron out their game. Individually they all have good skills, but they haven't quite clicked in defending as a unit.

Top 3 in goals scored

Shit in goals allowed

Sort the shitty passes that get intercepted and the tighten up the spaces between the lines

way too many goals allowed. Should have been a 4-1 match and not 3-2
