* #7 initially worn by Niang, is vacated.

* Auba announcing himself at San Siro with the #7. Not to mention him clearly saying he wants to come.

* Mirabelli saying Aubameyang is his "Destiny"

I think there is no need to keep guessing who will arrive.
And this is regardless of Dembele moving or not.
It would be naive to think that Dortmund is not prepared to replace him and Dembele. Aubameyang being subject of so much interest since before the market opened (Milan, Chelsea, china) and Dembele being red hot this season ...

They have their shortlist ready just waiting for offers that satisfy them.
They want to make the most of these deal (as anyone would)

they:
1. work in silence. they probably already agreed terms with those replacement players and their clubs.

2. They often go for lesser taked about players. Players that are not yet "hot properties".
Wouldn't be surprised to see the next day after Aubameyang leaves that they have signed Dembele (Celtic) or Dolberg.

Can assume that BVB have done a lot of work searching for an Auba replacement, considering they assumed he was off to China.

I doubt it too. They aren't Bayern but they are not Schalke 04 either.

Why not? please elaborate, here this will help:

2012-2013: Kagawa, Barrios, Perisic
2013-2014: Gotze, Santana
2014-2015: Lewandowshi, Sahin
2015-2016: Immobile, Kampl, Blaszczykowski
2016-2017: Mkhitaryan, Hummels, Ramos, Subotic.

Football Italia said:
Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang told Milan fans he’d “love to come back, but if they are sleeping, what can I do?”

The Gabon international grew up in the Rossoneri youth academy, but was sold for a minimal fee and found success in the Bundesliga.

New Milan directors Massimiliano Mirabelli and Marco Fassone have made no secret of the fact Aubameyang is one of their prime targets for the attack.

He was holding a livestream on Instagram when fans asked if he would return to Milan.

“I’d love to come back, but if they are sleeping, what can I do?” replied Aubameyang in Italian.

He then did an impression of the San Siro announcer after a goal.

“And with the Number 7….”

Other options include Andrea Belotti of Torino and Fiorentina’s Nikola Kalinic.

This is only the latest social media clue that Aubameyang would relish a return to Milan, as he also ‘liked’ a post noting he wanted to come, but the problem was the €80m price-tag placed on him by Borussia Dortmund.

He is coming.

That live video from Aubameyang  He's obviously teasing Milan fans.

Can someone who speaks Italian translate what Pedulla tweeted : Aubameyang ha detto quello che doveva e che sentiva. Ora non tocca più a lui

something like

"Auba said what he should and what he felt. Now it's not up to him anymore"

Could it it be that he is actually referring to the live video, and basically saying that its up to Milan and Dortmund now?

I do think so.

It is up to Milan. I think, FM will get him for new owner especially for the fans.

Yes.
I mean, the whole time he's not being shy that he wants to move to Milan. A lot of reports around that he made it all short of a transfer request.

Problem was always that Dortmund want a lot of money

Let's get Kalinic. Then reinforce the midfield with Renato and force a move for Keita (I hate the guy but his goals will get us higher in the league and his young with bags of potential). If we get all these players 10/10 mercato.

I think if we good everywhere else we will be fine, I hope. If Juventus can win the league with Matri, fucking Matri, I think Kalinic will do.

What do you guys think? Or should we just force Auba or Diego, with outrageous price tag and salaries.

I think we got really a lot more than we expected out of this mercato. If we got Kalinic we should still be very happy. We have the next winter mercato to work out on a striker.
