52 goals and he is overrated  I know he is not maradonna but he is above every single player of this current generation

But I like schweni xavi bommel silva ahead of him

yes, 52 goals, but how many he scored by himself? I'm sure 90% of them were by receiving perfect passes in front of the goal from xavi, iniesta or d.alves

people need to look at who makes assists instead of looking solely on who scores

Ah well,i bow in the greatness of Barcelona and Messi in particular.Still cant believe people call Barca overrated....90% of you still have bad memories by that dive in 2006 by Puyol...GET OVER IT.

Barcelona is better than any team in the world...and boy Messi is seriously bigdicking y/h!

As a Milanista i have the utmost respect for Barca, and yes Puyol is a fucking beast, worldclass in every aspect.

The biggest problem is that we will probably have to live with the Barca and Messi wankfest for another year.

Barcelona kept talking about the ref the moment last clasico was over, and only won today when Pepe got the unfair red card.

Problem is they don't even deserve it. Now all the gloryhunters/people with no clue about football/idiots will continue to fap over Barcelona and Messi without even bothering to use their minds or listen to other people's different opinions.

I also think Messi is overrated and don't like him really, but that second goal was superb.

Just look how he plays for Argentina. Argentina doesn't has the same % of possession, doesn't have good defenders, and even worse full backs. He never plays well for them. Messi only plays well for teams that are excellent in every position and he keeps receiving great passes and sometimes he can even stop playing for a while to economize energy.
You just described every player in history. Every single player ever is better when he has a good team around him and not as good when the team around him is lesser...no one is disputing that. It's finding the right balance and the right fit. yes messi is good but Xavi and Iniesta help him alot. But it also works the other way around, Messi also makes Iniesta and Xavi look good by converting and scoring on all those chances. Not everybody can score 50 goals in Messi's position

Sorry, but you can't possibly downplay 52 goals in a season, it's madness... Besides, if anything Messi is the guy that scores the craziest kind of goals out of all the big goal scorers, well except for Zlatan.

In what way are Barcelona direct?

Honestly, these last few games against RM i've seen Barca pass the ball back to their GK but RM aside, Barca always, always go 4ward... Ruud Gullit even said so.

Not that I enjoy watching this tiki taka bullshit but,

because they can. They tire out the opposition who needs to sit in defence and thus can't be a threat forward. It's a very efficient way of playing and we can all see that looking @ Barca's results the last 5 years.

Didn't think I had to teach you stuff like this Calum

Barcelona's system is very effective for them. My point is that there are other effective systems, and I object to the assumption that possession football is the "right" way to play.

Its not a matter of obligation, it comes naturally, teams want to control the game and play at their own rhythm, and it gives them more confidence to have ball on their feet rather than chasing it for 60-70 minutes.

You can control the shape an tempo of the game without having possession. If a team thinks their strength lies in defending and striking on the break, they sit back and play on the counter-attack. Does that team not have control of the game?

And why unfair ? He already had yellow, so straight red, or yellow-red, does it matter? Def. he deserved yellow, at least. It was very fair! That cunt Pepe deserves that, and Real as well because of the dirty way they play.

I will dump barca as soon as milan is going to big dick in europe , any team which can **** real and manure have my true support

Gloryhunting a bit? :o

Actually, I don't like Real and ManU either. Unfortunality I also don't like Barça.

go gazprom go

It's not looking good though. I hated the defending during the first goal. Three players from Schalke focusing on one player so that Giggs was left alone. :fp:

That's fair. But why do people always look down Mourinho's tactics? Is tiki taka the only way of playing football? Is defense or counterattacking not a part of football? Why are Mourinho's tactics frowned upon while Barcelona's tactics are jizzed at? They are not even offensive ffs, they are boring as fuck. I don't believe or use the word "anti football" about any tactical system, but Barcelona's game could be defined that way, they kill the tempo and bore everyone watching including their opponents until they score, why is that then praised and when Mourinho wins with counterattacks it's called anti football or defensive or boring or whatever?

So? Next year the CL is coming home anyways, and we'll have 1000 page discussions about who is best the best player in the world out of Pato and Zlatan, and it will be glorious, and no one will remember Barcelona.

So for now, just let Barcelona enjoy their moment and be happy for them. They're a very good team.

I agree with this. It would be horrible if all teams played like Barca.

But this system seem to be the most effective one nowadays.

On the plus side, the Wembely pitch is quite tight and is very slow. Normally the pitch doesn't suit us because we can't get out passing game going, but it would definately be to our advantage against Barcelona.

madness is how good xavi and iniesta's passes are, that's what you should be amazed
and messi isn't the guy who scores the craziest kind of goals, it's totally the opposite actually, because he never scores a goal like ronaldinho, c.ronaldo, ronaldo, ibra, henry, zidane used to scored. His goals are always simple and objetive, always the same kind

#1 can you guarantee that Barca wouldn't have scored if Pepe was still on the pitch?

#2 Did Madrid deserve to win today then?

It's not possible to have 70-80 per cent of possession and "always go forward". Barca do play on the front foot, and they do play the vast majority of the game in the opposition back. But they spend a lot of their time passing sideways and backwards, against any proper team. It's a diffiult thing to do, and it's highly effective, but it's not direct.

When opposition team doesn't sit back. HOW can Barca be direct in a game like this?

That's true. It's also the same point I was making.

Barcelona is the lowest low of football, Afellay's brilliance and Messi's usual stuff notwithstanding.

Pretty sure they have trainee refs back in Catalunia, with whom the players play 'Hound the Ref' every day during training.

Disgusting cheaters.

What about the one today? What about the one where he dribbles from half field (maradona style) What about the one vs Arsenal where he chips it over the GK and volleys it in?

As others said b4...."HATERS GONNA HATE.":o
