I also really like that article, for me Sandro is actually the best defender.
And with him and Thiago S. we have a good centre defense.

Not sure if it's just me...

But aren't they feeding Sandro anymore? He looks thinner than usual.

I randomly found pictures of Nesta's wedding... did anyone already post them here? (I am asking because they are obviously from a while back). If not, I can link them here.

MILAN - This morning Filippo Inzaghi and Alessandro Nesta made a significant visit to the Center of vascular malformations for youths realised with the contribution of Fondazione Milan at the "Buzzi" children's hospital in Milan.

In particular, Alessandro Nesta talked about his feelings:
"It's always a pleasure, I had been here a long time ago. And things were different. Both because the structure was different from today, and also because I wasn't a father yet. Today it has makes a completely different impression and I have to say that thanks to Filippo Inzaghi, thanks to Giorgio Puricelli, I see a new and improved structure. All the people that work here work hard for the kids. Today they gave us emotions. One lad asked me to write down that we would win the Scudetto, another one said wonderful things to Pippo Inzaghi. They are kids that give joy. You should never forget about doing charity, we always try to give a hand to Fondazione Milan as well as the various players' other foundations. Not always do we want to talk about what we do publicly. Football has changed our lives, but many of us had the same problems many families have nowadays before we got into football."

Sandro also briefly talked about the next round of the Champions League:
"Barcelona and Chelsea no, they are the strongest, I really wouldn't like to meet them. We are on the same level as the others, although also Manchester United remain very strong."

yea, he is just being very confident, and saying we are not even afraid of even a team of ManU caliber...i have always liked nesta..key to our defense, and wish him the best of luck in his remaining footballing years..

We can beat ManU, so he's right to not be afraid of them.
I also always liked him, Sandro is the best defender now, so I hope he stays that way.
I loved it when we had him and Paolo as defenders, that was the best.

IMO we shouldn't even be AFRAID of chelsea or barca. We are Milan, we are the bad match-up for other teams. But I respect both of those to teams.

they should have put the sombrero Miccoli sold him before the 2nd goal into that clip...
Nesta wasn't at his usual best yesterday, maybe due to Thiago missing. TS brings that agressive and more physical aspect to our defense that complements perfectly to Nesta's class and technique.

"Let me put it out there... Alessandro Nesta, whilst being Milan's player of the season so far, is an accident waiting to happen. Not because he's lacking anything in ability - all of the defensive know-how is still there, as he has been forced to prove many a time this season - but because the poor guy is knackered. If you get the chance to see Milan up close in 2010, keep one eye on Sandrino. For there you'll see a man with his hands on his hips whenever the ball is out of his reach, be that in the last minute or the first. And when they're not on his hips, they're on his lower back, which, according to well-connected circles in the city, is ready to give way again at any moment. It's a distressing sight to see this man, who used to glide into challenges, now struggling to keep up due to his body's debilitated state"
Chris Voakes of goal.com

The poor guys is always holding his back. I hope he stays healthy throughout the season or we are done. Especially after galliani said there will be no signings other then becks and adiyiah in january.

is hard to believe that a defense with Nesta, Maldini and Cannavaro never won anything.

I'm not criticisin Sandro's play but out management should look for solutions how to defend as a team-unit. Our cleen sheet stats are dreadful.

meh.

17 goals allowed. behind lazio/fiorentina/Bari (15), Inter (14). Take out 2 awful games (inter and cagilari combine 7 goals).

Still, our defence is still shaky from time to time... But obviously you just need to take a look at our fullbacks to understand why.

Not only fullbacks ... a VERY THIN central midfield isn't helping matters either. If it weren't for Nesta and Silva, it would've been a very different story.

Not acceptable + You sure we wouldn't be leapfrogged by the ones behind us if we take out two of their worst games? We don't have enough clean sheets. Facht.

It's early and we're running a new system. Give it time. It doesn't bother me as much cause we r attacking alot more.

Yes attacking a lot more but unable to finish chances. And that means getting counterattacked.

21 goals in 9 serie A games (since switch to 4-3-3) isn't a poor count. That paces to 87 in a season for reference
