Roma - City would be great. Roma would earn a lot of pts for Italy in EL

looks like UEFA are going to change the rules for the 2018/2019 season.

they'll make it 4 teams for the top 4 teams.

this is terribly convenient for the english clubs who are set to lose their 4th spot at that time. so UEFA decide to change the rules and have the top 4 countries send their top 4... but when Italy lost their spot, they never considered doing shit for us.

uefa acting 2 years in advance to act on a problem that would affect the EPL.

food for thought.

This is being done after lobbying by all top clubs including Serie A clubs, Hitman. They threatened to form the super league again. UEFA yielded. We had discussed in the CL thread.

No doubt serie a clubs were in favor of this, but this is almost definitely in protection of the epl. The big clubs surely asked for something like this, but I'm very sure the epl clubs were the final straw. So many big spenders in that league, with a shit load of top coaches now, there's no way Uefa would allow the biggest league marketing wise to miss out.

I could care less about weakening the epl though at this point. It's theoretically good for Milan to have another champions league spot soon in our league

Agreed. I fully support the idea as well. The coefficients were an extremely flawed system to begin with. Sooner it went out from the very top the better.

No. It's from G-16 and English would be running away with all the money pumped into them [if it doesn't come so big they'll prioritize EPL over CL (+EL)].

Plus Italy has 3 spots atm and with that they are the ones who actually gain a spot from nothing. (Grazie don Gandini & Braida)

Such a good change.

And I don't see a problem with it somehow coinciding with EPL losing the 4th spot because we could easily lose it again soon after.

A great change.

I think you're delusional to think Italy will get back the 4th spot soon. This change will benefit Italy the most despite they haven't done anything to deserve it recently

umm, did you pass elementary mathematics? or are you still resitting?

that's pretty much all you need to realize England are going to lose that 4th spot in 2 years if things continued the way they are.

Italy may lose that 4th spot again in 4-5 years from now, but there was going to be a period of at least 2 years were Italy was going to overtake England (and probably Germany too).

you are basing your opinion purely on emotion. just like your blind faith in our flop De Sciglio. you need to learn how to analyze data infront of you to understand what's happening. just because England have had the spot for the past 3 years and have all this money does not mean they will have that 4th spot forever. They must get the results to keep it and their results in Europe over the last 5 years isn't that much better than Italy believe it or not.

As things stand today, the difference between the 2 countries is only about 2.25 points.

And here's the source: http://kassiesa.home.xs4all.nl/bert/uefa/data/method4/crank2017.html

At the end of this upcoming season, England and Germany will lose an advantage of ~ 2 points and 3.5 points to Italy. I did the maths for you so you don't struggle.

And obviously the Italians will sign on to this. This benefits all the top 4 nations... but what I was saying is that why did the lobbying start this late? Why didn't they start this before Italy lost it's 4th spot? Why did they start now before England lost their 2 spots?

Because the English FA are really the best FA in everything. Their league is the richest, most televised and attractive to the general public because the people who manage it.

I'm just gutted that Italy had to be the experimental rat that had to suffer for them to realize that the rules needed to change.

Sassuolo's performance today was really something to watch. It could have been 6-0.

Granted Red Star Belgrade aren't what they used to be, but they didn't have one clear chance.

:lol::lol::lol::lol: you're talking as if your blind faith to Balp is so much better.

And no this is not simple math as you claimed. Things will be very different for England this season considering how their top teams had strengthen their squads. I predict this year could be their best year in the last 6-7 years with MU might go all the way to win EL. Thus I won't be so sure that Italy could still rely on 1 season wonder 2014-45 to overtake them in 2019.

Wanna do a sig bet on this?

I couldn't. Glanced in the middle and read a few lines.

He hasn't reached Corz standards yet. But the trajectory since say 2014 is very promising. Maybe in another two years.
