I think thate it has sunk in now - there will be no overtaking this year. What do you guys think - will Serie A hold a lead in the starting blocks next year? 58.915 vs 58.659 (0.256 lead) atm
59.082 vs 58.909 (0.173) [0.083 lost on a good week]

We don't need 4 Italian teams to humiliate themselves in the CL.

I quite like seeing the rest of italy humiliate themselves. Shows how far behind they are in comparison to the rest of Europe.

It might actually wake them up.

the difference is still minimal
all we should hope for is that it stays as minimal as possible because the season ain't over yet

if so the race is on next season!
with teams like Leicester, Tottenham, City & Arsenal in the CL they won't even look that strong

City will have Pep, who almost guarantees a Semi Final slot :proud:

Arsenal always make it out the group stages ;)

Tottenham = No comment

Leicester could do a Leeds United :fp:

One thing i respect the EPL teams is they have The British Bulldog Spirit. They wont give it up so easily. It will be interesting for sure.

True... that is only set to increase big time next season with the new TV deal. Finishing in the top 4 will guarantee you around 200M

That's more than what a team gets for winning the UCL

So i wouldn't be surprised to see some EL starting lineups in the UCL from the EPL clubs.

Cash is important but ain't everything, I mean Leicester is a example for that

There's gonna be more money to be badly spent, prices will inflate within and out the league

So i wouldn't be surprised to see some EL starting lineups in the UCL from the EPL clubs.

that attitude is what got them in the position they're in right now
epl & serie a could learn from bundes & la liga teams

updated coefficients for 2011-2016:

1. Spain: 98.856
2. Germany: 77.891
3. England: 74.159
4. Italy: 70.439

2011/2012 coefficient points that will get erased at the end of this season:

SPA: 20.857
GER: 15.250
ENG: 15.250
ITA: 11.357

If we assume the season ends today, the start of next season would be like this:

1. SPA = 77.999
2. GER = 62.641
3. ENG = 59.909
4. ITA = 59.082

We're not that far off from Germany either so we should hope for the Germans and English to get eliminated asap. I am not optimistic about Lazio making it far, at best they'll get one more win which is 0.333 points for Italy. English teams still have points to collect from 4 teams remaining as of now: City, Utd-Liverpool (max points England can win from this game = 0.25 pts), Spurs-Dortmund.

Juve don't stand a chance versus Bayern but if they do make it, they'll be Italy's much needed wild card left in Europe.

I stand corrected.

We are currently locking horns with England. Slightly ahead of England but Liverpool-Utd game will give England a guaranteed 0.25 points allowing them to surpass us. City will also gain at least 0.375 pts (if they win at home).

Italy's hopes all lie on Lazio.

ladri has chance too

+ you're forgetting about the bonus points

No I didn't.... I included it. There is only a bonus point of +1 for qualifying from each round in the CL (equivalent to any team drawing). There are no bonus points at this stage of the EL.

The Premier League will retain four Champions League places for the 2017/18 season after Juventus failed to beat Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

Before Wednesday night?s Champions League last-16 tie, Serie A retained an outside chance of overhauling the Premier League in Uefa?s coefficient rankings but the Italian champions? 6-4 aggregate defeat to Bayern after losing 4-2 at the Allianz Arena has ensured England will once more have four representatives in Europe?s premier club competition.

made me chuckle :lol::lol::lol:

England will now have 4 spots in the UCL for the next 2 seasons

From next season due to the new TV deal they'll get close to 200M for finishing in the UCL places.

Still chuckling :proud:

This is actually horrifying. Was this approved on national tv?

Yup.... aired in England during the mid 90's.

It may look a bit ott... but remember the storyline. Good vs Evil. Joga Bonito vs Dirty football :smileani:

I just love that last move from Ronaldo to Cantona.... Au Revoir :uzikill:
