Sampdoria - Milan week 3 - 18/9

I see this game is gone be tough on both sides knowing that Samp is playing on Thursday evening and the match would be played on Sun, in one way is advantage for us that we have an extra day of rest.
And will have to see who Carlo will Select for this match its not gone be easy, knowing how strong Samp are and they have good squad and that would be hard to break them down.
But any how Milan looks determined for this match and having Sheva , Gila and kaka up front would be great show from them.
Hope to see Ambro and pirlo but it seems Carlo will rest Pirlo for the up coming game there plenty of games ahead but I would wana see the same back line and see Vogel, Ambro and Serghino( Seedorf) and with 3 deadly weapons we have ( Sheva, Gila and Kaka).
I would wana see Rui coming in the second half for Kaka, knowing he has been playing well of late.
Any how will see how well Samp will do after coming back from the UEAF cup will it affect them on Sunday.

I don’t know but I feel better when playing against a strong team.
Milan r more focused & serious + a strong team wont stack up in front of their goal.

I wish 4 Gila 2 score.
I don’t wanna have Sheva the only 1 who can score 4 us.

Ambro should play as he is performing great.
So maybe we should rest Pirlo & play with Ambro + Gatu or maybe giving Vogel his first start.
Of course we need 2 have Serginho in so we can have an active left flank.

Stam will surely play so we should rest Maldini maybe.
Its great 2 have a serious turn over system as it give our player the rest they need + we will have great players on our bench witch give us the advantage of fresh legs whenever they r needed.
I always thought that a great bench is the difference between a good team & a great team.

Do you think it is a wise idea for Ancelotti to rest Pirlo and play Rui Costa instead against Samp? After all he has been emphasising that Pirlo will get a rest.

Rui is an attacking midfielder while Pirlo is a bit Versatile as he can play as a defensive or attacking midfielder .
Pirlo can replace Rui but it cant b the other way around.

Anyway , am with u about resting Pirlo when needed.
Maybe play Vogel 2 see what can he offer us.

Actually Carlo tried Rui Costa in that position for some matches before the start of 04-05 season. If you remember at that time Pirlo was selected for the Azzuri squad for the Olympic games (Gila was there too). And Carlo was quite happy with Rui Costa's performance. So it can be done.

Versatile? Do you really think Pirlo can tackle the job as a defensive midfielder? We all know why he was positioned there. Vogel was recruited as Pirlo's double. So give Vogel a playing time.

I just watched the Milan Sienna match (delayed version) and i thought Milan did will in the first half. Gila may have missed some good chances but his movement was good and he got into many goal scoring positions. I think its just a matter of time before he gets of the mark. I think he will score againts Samp if he is given the nod to start the match. As for the rest of the team, we look good except for the defense. We havent been defending well from set pieces and are giving the opposition chances to score from free headers and at this level we cant afford to do so. We badly need to work on that!!! Otherwise i guess it shouldnt be a probe to get the 3 points. Cant wait to watch Kaka play again after the champs league match! Should be awesome.

Oh by the way, any news on Marek? cant wait to see him start a match and perhaps play in seedorfs position

Rui has played in pirlo's position berfore and was very good at it....obviously not as good as Pirlo! Anyway I think Pirlo will play in this match. i think this could be the formation:

Sampa are strong side but thay are tired nov from the draw vs. Setubal...

Well how can we judge the guy unless we play him ?
Vogel isn’t my choice but he is in Milan so we should give him a chance.

We didn’t give Ambro his chance b4 & we always played Gatu while Ambro is much better than him.
Look now as Ambro is doing great.

We don’t give Simic a chance so we know if he deserve 2 play or not.

So lets play the guy then we decide if he is good or not.
After all in a team where Seedorf play I think any player in the world should play also.

So yes he is a DM.
He is there as a defensive starter or a defensive playmaker.

Position wise, yes he is a DM but not in real playing. Gattuso/Max is our true DM. Pirlo was slotted there to launch attack right from the defense. With arrival of Rivaldo, Ancelotti Carlo had a surplus of Offensive Midfield (although Rivaldo can also play as a striker) with both Rui Costa and Pirlo also at his disposal.

No, Pirlo is not a def mid. He's a deep/withdrawn playmaker + that's all he is. Also answers the question about versatility....

Well ok.
This is why I said he is a “Defensive starter or defensive playmaker”.
U describing him as a deep-playmaker witch is another way of naming his role.
But m sure he can also play as a central midfielder as he posses the skills 4 it.
And he used 2 play as a Playmaker.

Versatile = ability 2 play more than 1 role.
I think he is qualified 4 that.

He does play in a DM position only with different tasks than DMs like Gatu or Ambro.
