All three players have strong cases to stake the claim to be the best footballer of the year 2004. Well, pretty much disappointed with the result last year, but at least I enjoyed reading the articles profiling the three players from the FIFA website.

Nice article from FIFA.com. Something worth posting from the article :

Out of the 100 goals that he scored :
- 36 goals coming from his right foot
- 17 from his left
- 26 from headers
- 2 from free kicks
- 19 from the penalty spot

All part of his 21 braces and 3 hat-tricks.
I know he got 1 hattrick from 99-00 season against Lazio. Does anybody remember the other?
