I think maybe early season under GP and his roleswap had a hand in Suso's behaviour. Even last season when he had his poor 6 months, he still at least tried and moved around on the pitch etc etc. Even before he was benched by Samu this season, he just seemed to walk around at times as if he didn't care and seemed disinterested. Much like Piatek had been for a few games putting in little work.
It's a good time for both to part and do hope he finds success with Sevilla. Forza Suso.
His workrate was, if possible, even lower in Rino's last months.
Rino, Giampaolo, Pioli...all of them tried to get him out of his comfort zone on the right flank and get him to work harder off-ball, and he did try, but it couldn't be sustained for long.
Suso has never accepted to be a benchwarmer. He forced his way out of Liverpool because he wanted to play regularly. He pushed for the Genoa loan when Miha benched him after a bad performance as CAM in the opening round.
He was going to force his way out again the day a new Milan coach benches him. That didn't happen(Montella, Rino, GP) until Pioli.
I'm glad he's pushing for this move. He's not going to become a different player. At least not here. He's on 3m. That's way too much for a backup.
