Add Cuardado on loan and we have a decent team that can aim for Champions League football. A simple and inexpensive mercato like this would do a lot for us yet Galliani is incapable of doing that

---------------------Gigi

Des/Abate---Cacares-----Romagnoli----Anto/Vangioni

-------Kucka--------Badelj------Zielinski

Cuardado------------Striker-------------Bonaventura

Serie A is poor and we can actually finish 2nd with this team if we have the right guidance from Montella

Whenever he was fit he did a really good job. Only problem is his injury issues

Di Maria is a very, very good player with moments of greatness however too many times he wants to go solo like in the games were PSG were eliminated in CL against City or the final of Copa America against Chile (albeit he was not 100%) were he could just pass the ball but he wants to take 3-4 defenders on his own.

Agreed. Di Maria is very good, but not as much as hes made out to be. Hes had his best moments out of position really, when Carlo moved him to midfield.

Arbeloa would be such a pointless signing

Who'd probably want more in wages than Caceres as well... who would pick Arbeloa over Caceres? Especially as a CB. We've got 5 fullbacks atm

That people think of him as a competent CB is alone a reason he's overrated. I like him more as a Defensive Fullback. But as a central defender, nope.

He used to be quick to return to position, but now lost that swiftness. He really never developed into a real CB as far as I'm concerned. He really has the same problem as David Luiz, except the latter is popular due to hair+nationality.

And who is in your opinion the better defender, that we can realistically get?

I have a feeling signing Arbeloa means De Sciglio is going to be sold… Maybe they had him as a backup plan if China agreement is not signed till some point, this way DeS money (around 15M I suppose) could give them some freedom to operate now, and Arbeloa could cover Mattia's positions, play on both flanks

Oh I didn't know that was a factor. I was talking in general. Although if he does come I'd make him 3rd choice after Paletta and Romagnoli. While Paletta can be shaky, he still understands what it is to be a defender. Romagnoli still needs a stable partner. Like Roma was good with Alex and shit with Zapata, mainly because of the difference between the two. Overall our situation doesn't let me think of any realistic target as the market is "blocked", so if we're in the market for a third choice defender I'd use half of the Bacca money for Rugani actually(other half for a midfielder). Still young and can be molded into a real CB.

I think Paletta is a better player than Caceres and thats also considering how ugly he is to the Milan brand and how his hair makes me want to puke every time I see him on the pitch.

I understand why Montella wants to keep Poli, he's good with the ball on his feet and offers kilometres in case Kucka isn't present. Under Brocchi, our best game was against Juventus where he played both Poli and Kucka to play next to Montolivo as both Kucka and Poli are willing to run and offer KM's, similar to Parolo and Giacherrini for Italia.

To those who continue defending Bacca, even pundits like Bonetti who I consider an absolute ****** have understood that Bacca is a one trick pony who offers nothing to the game but his finishing and to not sell him would be ******ed. I just hope Napoli is stupid enough to bite for him.

Cuadrado would be a fantastic inclusion but the question is where would Suso play? Would he be ok with being a substitute?

Zaza doesn't convince me at all, I only like the fact he's tall but I'd rather gamble and give Mario one last chance over Zaza as last season it was honestly complicated and it wasn't a good indicator of his actual abilities. The guy was basically injured all season. Zaza seems like a very low energy person

IMO Milan needs to focus on finding two new midfielders:

1) One that can offer the same thing as Kucka but consistently and at a world class level
2) One that can play the Modric/Montolivo/Pirlo/Xabi Alonso role in case Montolivo gets injured again

You gotta stop putting Kucka in your starting 11, I like him but It's clear Montella favours ball playing midfielders, I think maybe even both Bertolacci and Montolivo could be starters

Tevez would be a nice addition. Probably a low transfer fee but very high wages.

Bro, there are literraly less than 5 players in the world that fit that description, and I'm pretty sure they are all out of our reach

No suits for Milan for the US trip. Players can buy their own if they want

Bacca, Menez, and Diego Lopez money: Bastian, Badelj, and Rugani.
Loan: Cuadrado and Kovacic

Bona-Adriano-Cuadrado
Kovacic-Badelj/Bastian-Bastian/Kucka
DeS-Roma-Paletta/Rugani-Abate
Donna

Subs: Lapa, Niang, Suso, Monto, Antonelli, and Gabriel

What do you guys think?

I think buying a striker when we have three is moot. I know they aren't super great, but since money is scarce we should focus on fields we're really lacking in.
