WELL DONE MARCO
9/28/2009 6:03:00 PM

The day after the match against Bari, Ignazio Abate: 'I'm disappointed, as are my team mates. Now we just have to keep our heads down and work. Marco Storari did really well.'

MILANELLO - Here are the declarations made by Ignazio Abate today at Milanello, to Milan Channel's microphones, at the end of the team's training session, on yesterday night's match against Bari:

"Certainly we expected a different evening, we wanted to shorten the standings by getting the full result and getting closer to the top teams, but it has to be said we met a fine Bari team which created many more chances than us. On Wednesday we have another big game, in a competition we care a lot about, our heads are already focused on Zurich.

When you face teams like Bari we need to have the same focus and the same determination to let our qualities come out. Evidently Bari put in something more and in the future that shouldn't happen again, especially at home.

Personally I am bitter just like my team mates about yesterday's match, we could have done much more. We only need to keep our heads down and work to try to do much better on Wednesday.
We players go on the pitch and we are the ones who have to find the right motivations and the desire to do well, we have what it takes so we'll have to play a good match."

Yesterday night Storari played a great match.
"I am very happy for Marco, since we arrived here we formed a great friendship, he's a great lad and especially a great professional, I hope he continues like this, with all my heart."

There was nothing weak about his saves last night. And it's ridiculous to say he's only looking good because we're that bad.

is normal Milan take pressure of Bari?
is normal our keeper had all that trouble against Bari?

Bari was in serieB last season.

Milans obligation is make 4 goals on them.. and let storari sitting on the goal back there.

So what if Bari was in Serie B last season? Juve came from Serie B and did what? Exactly! Milan came from Serie B and did what? Exactly!

No need to discredit Storari. He managed to pull off 3 unbelievable saves in one game. That's like the total amount of unbelievable saves made by Dida in his whole career.

We cant put Dida in the same bag with Storari.

Storari did nothing on his whole career.

Make a great game against the powerfull and multi-champion Bari.

If anyone cares, Storari is reportedly about to get a contract extension that will double his salary to 1 mil a season. Guess it beats actually shopping for new blood in the GK department.

i agree there's no reason to discredit him at all... i think hes playing above himself right now (similar to kalac brief shining period) but he has made some very good saves... and without him we clearly would have lost the last game

Well Dida had the fortune of being a starter for Milan. Storari didn't. So his bad luck I guess. Let's not forget Barca stuck with Valdes although he was consistently shit! Look what he has now. Two UCLs. Yup. Same as Dida ;)

1 Million? Poor guy. It must really suck to get paid 4 times less than someone who gets injured while sitting on the bench, dives away from the ball, goes off in a stretcher after getting bitchslapped by a fan  and parties while being Injured.

Good news. We need him to stay, and he earns to earn more, and 1M is still not much.

Hurray! Storari:star: #1 (since coming summer!)

When you exclude Nesta and maybe Silva, this is the only guy on the team doing his job properly. Is it a coincidence that these are three players that Leo`s tactics can have the least influence on?:D

I still find him a weak keeper far away to be top class just living a good moment.

He is doing a very good job by now.

The stage is perfect for him, the biggest team in the world, been attack for every one in every game.

I hope he keep up the good moment and embrace every chance.

THE FAIRY TALE CONTINUES!

A first team place, great performances and a contract extension: Marco Storari is enjoying the moment. On his return to Milan last summer, he built his 'fairy tale' game after game, winning everyone's trust.

MILAN - Marco Storari and Milan together for two more seasons. Today the Rossoneri's goalkeeper's contract was extended until 30 June 2012. On his return to Milanello last summer, initially 'just to do the American tour', as he himself said in an interview with 'Segni Particolari', the player earned a starting place, participating in all nine official matches played so far by the team.
And now, to crown a great personal moment, with Storari always one of the best on the pitch, the signature of the new contract. At Milanello, Marco spoke about his feelings, in front of Milan Channel's microphones.

'I'm very happy. My contract was expiring and I was hoping for it. I've always had faith, Milan always treated me very well. We renewed the contract and I'm happy. We chose together to extend the contract to 2012, if everything goes well I'll be a Rossonero until then. Contracts are extended only when both parties agree, which means the club has shown me faith. And having the faith of the club, of the team and my team mates is the most important thing for me. I can only thank them.'

'Abbiati is training with us goalkeepers for the last few weeks and he's doing quite well. We await him with open arms and hope he comes back as soon as possible. We know Christian's value. There are four of us between the sticks and I don't think there are other teams who have four goalkeepers like this.'

'Nesta? I'm happy he has returned to these levels after a long period of inactivity and the injuries he's had. Seeing him back in the center of the defence and in front of me on the pitch in such great conditions makes both me and the team happy.'

'Concerning Milan's moment, what I can say is that we're analyzing every component and every problem. For us the important thing is to continue working, as we are doing now. With a team like this the results will come.'

Milan's goalie, Marco Storari, despite his great beginning of season, will be out for one month and half for a muscular problem to the right thigh.
