Still think he can be useful off the bench, or start when our starters our injured.

Don't know what's going to happen come January though. Isn't his contract up this year?

Both

Won a freekick, took it himself, and it lead to the Lapagoal.

Also helped increase our presence in the final third

Good Bonaventura sub.

Montella should bench Niang in next match and play Honda instead

I think against Roma we'll be playing deeper and try to find the goal through fast executed counter attacks and not through controlling the midfield.

I think thise type of games are better suited for Niang than for Honda.

Can we just play him as LCM/RCM please? He is not spectacular dribbler, beat-his-man type of player but he seemingly has better decisionmaking than most of our midfielders, and he is a good passer.

It's not like Sosa, Fernandez or Pasalic are better at defending than him either so why not?

Agree, should be getting a chance. Nothing to lose really, the right never suited him but he has somehow been stuck on it since Inzaghi.

I don't understand how everybody gets playing time, except this guy. He should have been given more chances, as I am sure he'd be a lot more useful than fucking Ochumpos.

4-2-3-1 with one of Honda or Suso behind the striker sounds interesting to me

Honda has always been a grade A professional. It's a pity he had to play in Milan of recent years as he's more of a finesse player that could've been much more useful if circumstances were different.

is it possible to buy number only shirts from the milan store ?

i'm tempted to get a 10 because I love the new kits and it would be a nice nod, but I don't want "honda" on my back

if we change our playstyle and get a nice striker like aubameyang and honda accepts a 1yr contract with way lower wages I wouldn't mind keeping him as backup

he doesn't really fit that well in our 433 thing

Well i don't fully agree.

First of all, when he initially came, he was on horrible physical condition (with Dorf), that is not what i expect normally from a "grade A professional".

Second, current Honda would have constantly warmed the bench in 2002-2007 Milan.

What i think he has shown today for the umpteenth time is that he's very good at what our current attackers lack most: tactical awareness.

In fact, i think that he could have been an important player if we had a better team between 2014 and 2016.

Probably the most man out of everyone in the current squad.

Would be sad to see him leave.

-

No, he's been a true professional. There's no discussion about that really.

And who wouldn't have been benched in the 02-07 team? What about 07-14? Besides I'm speaking of a hypothetical alternative to the incompetence that we've had lately.

Agreed. Really don't get why montella hasn't considered him over the likes of ocampos and bertolacci :fp:

It's a shame but it seems like he is leaving. All the best for the future Keisuke <3
