Best penelty kisk taker?

My Dear Milan Fans!
simlple question

Who is the best penelty kick taker you have ever seen? :conf:

In my opinion Its Alan Shearer followed by Makaay & Batiustuta,
I haven't seen Deigo Maradona so can't tell abt him my opinion. :tongue:

I am not a great fan of England :mad:

but Shearer is a special one in that department.

I think this is the only thing where any other striker over comes our Hero Andriy Shevchenko, who is obviously not the best penelty kick taker

Pirlo's penalty prowess has slightly dipped from 02/03 season when he scored 8 from the spot. Last season (04/05) he missed a couple (Fiorentina and Messina). The most memorable miss: Toyota Cup 03 vs Boca and of course CL 05.

IMO, the best penalty taker is Roberto Baggio. Okay, he failed at the 94 WC final, but otherwise he was spotless.

MvBasten was a good taker, when he became top scorer in 91/92 season with 25 goals, half came from penalty. Although (like Baggio) people tend to remember the high profile miss (vs Denmark in Euro 92).

For me, it has to be Thomas Hässler, brilliant penalty taker, so precise.

Well all the players in the pool great penalty takers.
But I like 2 say its our great Albertini.
Even his style of taking a penalty was different coz he used 2 stay only 1 step behind the ball & a little 2 the left.

dont remember lothar mathaus missing too...

btw useless fact: matthaus let andreas brehme take the pk in the world cup final in 1990 cause matthaus complained that his feet felt somewhat uncomfortable... what a champion leader!

I was gonna say Pirlo..but its true his form has dipped. The reaosn i say Pirlo is because I witnessed him chip a pk over buffon. To me that was unbeleivable. Where does Trilli get balls to chip the greatest keeper of our day???

Yeah, both hit the ball so hard!!!

On Koeman, when he was still playing, a science dept of one university did a research and found that it was impossible for a human being to stop his cannon ball penalty since no human reflex are fast enough. But then, during those days, keepers were not allowed to move before the ball was strike.

As much as idolized Zidane, I don't think he's a great PK taker because he doesn't take a lot. He's only a regular on National team, not in Juve (Del Boy) or Real (Figo). The last PK that I can remember from him was vs England at Euro 04. Before that vs Portugal in Euro 00.

Fernando Hierro and Marcel Desailly. They were the best i've seen, but iam not sure who can be called the best ever. After all, a penalty, given whatever situation it is scored in, does not weigh equally a normal goal.

its a no-brainer, ruud van nistelrooy easily has the best penalty kick in the world. i wish they've had the stats of penalty saves and misses but i can only remember 2 times when he's ever missed a pen for man utd.

I remember 1 of them, it was against Arsenal. I only remember it because the Arsenal players battered him after it, you would have thought they would have liked him for missing, but I guess not.

that was because they felt he over-reacted in getting vieira send-off, patrick kicked out at him and van nistelrooy jumped out out the way, in the arsenal players mind he shouldnt of done that cause some how that got vieiria send off...so it obviously wasnt vieira's own fault for try to kick him eh? :conf:

I think the best 6 penalty kick taker I ever seen mostly came from the 90s Germany,

Lothar Matthaus, Matthaus Sammer, Thomas Haslle, Roman Koeman, Bebeto, Jurgen Kinnsman.
