Against Inter Prince Boateng and Bojan Krkic were my least favourite players, while Bojan kept dropping and Prince was the one playing as striker. Season long Prince is shooting like a madman, but never on target. So if we going to play with Prince, Bojan, El Shaarawy and Emanuelson up front, then at least have El Shaarawy behind Bojan for this same reason. Emanuelson then can play on the left, where he is at his best anyway, leaving the right side for Prince, which would be better than behind the striker nowadays I'd say. On the other hand I am so unsatisfied about Prince his preformances I'd prefer to put De Sciglio there; I think he would do well there. Ideally, Pato is back on the pitch, while I don't like both Bojan and Pazzini very much.

-------------------- Pato

---------------- El Shaarawy
Emanuelson ------------------------ De Sciglio
--------- Montolivo --------- De Jong

Bonera --- Yepes ----------- Zapata -- Abate
------------------ Abbiati

So we play with two strikers, which means one is not alone, and both can move wide and so. This could result in seeing El Shaarawy and Emanuelson attacking on the left side a lot, for both their best side, and De Sciglio and Abate attacking on the right side, for both their best side as well. With Bonera as leftback, we can form a three man defense during attacks, so we don't have to worry too much about whether Abate is back in defense on time. Everyone I picked is doing well this season, except for Pato who has been injured, but our fit strikers were bad anyway. Disappointing players like Prince and Nocerino are benched this way. Ambrosini is a good backup, while he's done well too, and also Mexes I see as a proper backup.

Bonera and Acerbi.

Bonera is the best CB we have, and Acerbi has the best potential.

We need a young CB to groom. Maybe Albertazzi could fill this role in the future.

Very very good and interesting idea there Pedro  :) Can we email it to Allegri somehow? :D
I would modify it a bit, though.

I know bojan. SES doesn't give you much cover on the flanks and the other teams full backs might have joy, but thats what the two DCM are for. it will force the opposition to always go wide and we can dominate posession in the middle with bojan and SES cutting inside.

You know what? That is a good formation ^^^

Flamini is in, Boa and Noce are out, Monty has a bit more freedom, the defense will be better and also offense.

Currently our best player and biggest goal threat is El Shaarawy as we all know. As much as the 4231 helps our attacking play, it leaves us exposed unless the two wingers track back all the way. El Sha is very good and disciplined at doing this, but forcing our biggest threat so far back is not a good idea in my books. With the 433 the 3 deeper midfielders can cover the space infront of the back 4 and El Sha wont have to track all the way back, leaving him free to be dangerous on the counter attack. Our most creative players are Robinho, Bojan and Urby and at least 1 (preferably 2) should start. In the smaller games, Boateng should play in midfield with Robinho playing on the right and Bojan upfront or we can alternate with a CF. Muntari coming back strengthens our 433 and Boateng on the right in bigger games with Muntari in the middle makes our midfield a very imposing one.

^^ Kind of agree with that.
I would consider a 4-3-3 that turn into a 4-1-4-1 while defending in big games. De Jong between the lines, Monty and Sulley as CMs (btw Boateng filled that exactly role for Ghana in the WC). Should be pretty solid defensively, though we will certainly miss Bojan connecting the attack, so will need to play a in more direct style and use the wings.

I would agree to the above posts, when we have a real CM who can play along with Montolivo and De Jong. In other words, when Muntari is back. With the current personnel (Nocerino), I simply can't digest a 3-man midfield.

So it is more like 4-3-2-1:

--------------------ABI--------------------
--DSG-----------MX---ZAP--------CONST--
-------Prince--------DJ---------Monty-----
-------Binho----------------------SES-----
-------------------Bojan-------------------

The problem is Bojan "or ant CF" will be isolated and we are basing on counter attack which we will have limited chances on creating threat or harder if we want to score against organized defense.

If Bojan or Pato are independent player who can find the goal with minimum effort than I would take it, unfortunately neither Pato or Bojan can be.

The 4-2-3-1 is more balanced to achieve your goals, we need our subs to function well and put their heart as SES92 is doing.
