2nd great game, he has confidence back and doesn't hide away from responsibility like he was doing before. De Jong looks like a rock while playing along with him - them 2 make us look much more compact as there isn't a gap betweem defence and attack and we play far less random now.

You know I always liked Monty's game, but it frustrated me at the same time cause he was very soft, specially till around 2 seasons ago, specially started showing it after his WTF performance in the Confed Cup (and well did help that finally instead of being thrown around at every position in midfield he was just kept there as CM-anchorish type). In his last 2 seasons, he wasn't being as softy but he was so obviously unmotivated in Fiorentina....
This season he has shaken away both of those characteristics, he's motivated, he's playing with his heart, his running a lot, he's taking responsability, and he's finally becomming a leader. He actually does too much for eing the only one in our midfield that can do it, specially since the game vs Inter.

Wow I start to feel like he really is our player.
it's not like I denied it or didn't accept him but it just didn't feel real that he's ours.
I don't know why. maybe I just needed some time to get used to seeing him in red and black. anyway he was really impressing today. It was like what the leader had to do.
