Did he actually agree to a wage cut? He’d redeem himself if he did, but highly doubt it with raiola as his agent

He has nothing to redeem himself for. He is a young player, that played really good for most of the time he was here.

It's our own management's fault for giving him such a high salary, and not handling the contract negotiations better.

Not sure what the management did, but the whole wanting to leave when we had just given him full trust to be our first keeper instead of Diego Lopez and him repaying us by trying to leave the season after was just fucked up. Esp that hes out of our youth system

That was mostly media bull shit.

I'm guessing he is, or at least was when he was 18, very susceptible to whatever Raiola was feeding him, which is mostly bull shit.

Could he have accepted a lower offer? Sure, but again that's on our previous management. Raiola took them for a ride, and they caved in.

The guy is not a Milan fan ever since he was a kid, he joined us when he was a teen. He has no responsibility to stay with us forever. ( although that would be great )

Days of player x a fan of team y is over.
Players just follow their career.
Rodri just joined City to play for Pep after only one year of returning coz he knows Pep can take him to another level.
And no Rodri isnt your typical player.
The guy is down to earth , no social media , go to university & sleep in its dorms.
He bought a car & he took a Corsa if am not mistaken.
In the old days such guy would spent his life with Atletico.
This kid will be immense.

Anyway, always considered loyalty as overrated, its a bonus but not essential.
To be professional is the thing for me.

Mirabelli is a clown, but the "negotiations" started before him.
Raiola used the slow ownership change and doubts about the Chinese owners as an excuse, with Donna's approval, to postpone the contract negotiations.
Donna was only one year away from being a free agent and only 6 months from signing a deal with a new club by the time F&M were appointed.
So basically Raiola had them by the balls from start.
The Donnarummas got their ridiculous contracts, but Raiola didn't get his annual 8-10m from Milan. I'm not happy with the outcome, but it could've been much worse.

What Donna allowed Raiola to do that summer is not of the ordinary.
Even players who have been mistreated by their club tend to not go to such lengths just to get a better deal.
What reason did Donna have to despise the club? He should feel gratitude if anything, because very few clubs would start a 16 year old when there's Diego Lopez available.
Donna wasn't exactly nearing the end of his career, heck he hadn't even turned 18, so the concerns about the club's ambitions were clearly bullshit(and has proven to be bullshit since he decided to stay even after failing to reach UCL and even after Yonghong Li turned out to be the fraudster he was suspected of being.

Now Donnaraiola seem to be looking for new excuses to keep the contract negotations going until next summer.
