Thanks! let me ask you, do you blindly support a club because the colors are just so fucking hot? Or do you care about their standards, morals, history, etc... probably just the colors and to feel like you "belong" to something I'd guess.

The irony behind Savo's statement is that the club is at the best it has been run in those nearly 15 years mentioned.

Or, do we make use of revisionism to forget that the latter years of Berlusconi... even from 2008 onwards really, not just 2012 til he sold, were the start of a spiraling downfall for the club. Then, the man who said he would only sell the club if it were to remain in good hands, sells to a Chinese fraud who cannot afford to pay back loans to a hedge fund. Yeah, must've been great to watch all of this transpire as the club were paying high wages to fodder players and bringing in mediocre signings (in retrospect) for well above their worth.

But yes, fuck Elliot. They are the problem. They should offer players whatever makes them happy and inflate the wage bill that will only put us 5 years backwards financially again while we can't afford to run the club. Really smart.

We've already let Gigio go for free which was a crime and then Hakan for free (much less a crime but still lost a lot of money) and now we risk losing our best player from last season for free?? Elliot are the cheapest scumbags in the world, please sell the club because we are bound for mediocrity if we behave this way... We sell our players for free/peanuts and then overpay for everyone and then when we have a fair deal like the Tonali one we try to nickel and dime them and risk losing it... I can't handle the management of this club and if it continues I'm done with Milan for a while, sad, but for the first time in 15 years I may have to take a break from this disgustingly run team.

What the fuck is this?

Who cares if we negotiate the Tonali deal down? Are you ashamed about it or something?

Heard some talk that Elliott said 5max and Kessie had a meeting with Paratici? True?

What's happening?

We could not afford to pay Hakan an extra 500k euros (4m -> 4.5m per his demand). Now we are struggling to find a playmaker to replace him.

We will be struggling to shop around for a box to box midfielder next summer.

This is Elliot's way of acquiring new players:

1. A loan with option to buyout.
2. Loaner and Milan to share the player's salary.
3. Milan salary threshold is 4m. Period.
4. Make Maldini look like a fucking lowballer.

We need a new owner. We just can't compete with Europe with this 4-million salary threshold.

If he wants to go we, should at least sign 2 years and then we can get decent coin for him. He wouldn’t need to stay for 2 years.
If he really gives a shit about our club.

If I remember correctly, he picked us over Roma back in 2017 as we offered him a bigger salary.

Footballers have their priorities, and in modern-day football, money talks. However, what disappoints me with Kessie is his long-ass interview when he licked every Milanistas' ass promising to renew his contract. All his bullshit with him loving the club and being loyal was unnecessary if money is so important to him.

It's not about being able to afford something or not.

Imagine your employee comes to you and asks for a 20% raise.
Do you have the money? Yes.
Should you pay up? It depends.
He wasn't even the best CAM in Serie A.

And rumors are that Kessie is asking for 7m + bonuses.
Do we have the money? Yes.
Should we pay? Fuck no.

It's called manipulation.

These over-the-top statements elevated his status among Milan fans. He was basically telling fans that he wants to stay, but they need to pressure the management into accepting his demands, instead of letting him walk away for free like they did to Dolla and Hakan.
And it worked to some extent because many Milan fans here were cursing the management for not giving him what he wants, so be it if it's 8m net.

Squeeze out every minute of this guy.

Try to catch some money during winter mercato.

The least we can do

He can sign a pre-agreement with a club independently during the winter mercato. No money for us. We could punish him by permabenching him, but that will be hardly felt because AFCON will keep him busy for a month, and it will be followed by more NT breaks.
A few months on the bench for his club team? No big deal.

I don't think he fooled the club. There was no good faith. Donna, Hakan and Kessie played the same predictable game - and the club took the same measures.
All parties benefited from the 2020-2021 success and there was and still is too much at stake to create a 2017 Dollargate-esque shitshow. The club didn't punish Donna or Hakan - they even defended and praised them during and after the failed negotiations - and they will do the same thing with Kessie because a public war and punishment could and probably would damage the club's reputation and destabilize the club environment.

We'll wait and see how things develop. Perhaps he will budge and renew on reasonable terms if this season doesn't turn out as fairytalish as his last one.

Problem with Kessie and Hakan is that both started performing post-covid when there wasn’t much left in their contracts. Kessie should have been renewed or sold, but we don’t know what goes behind the scenes.

Sold, for how much?
His salary demands killed his transfer value.
He'll pick the club that pays the highest salary and commission, not transfer fee.

The club probably thought an insignificant sum was not worth it. Better to stick with him until his contract expires, and let Pioli field him as often as he'd like since he's a key player.

Hence why I said we don’t know what goes behind the scenes: its never as simple as renew or sell.

Agree, but there are many here who seem to think a sale for a significant sum was a viable and good option for all these starters or former starters on expiring contracts, when there are several indications that this was not the case.
I can see why the club chose not to give ultimatums to these players the way Mirabelli did with Dolla in 2017.
Elliot/Gazidis are more calculating than that.

Employees are offered contracts.
As long as they fulfil their contractual obligations by performing well and making themselves available for service. What more can an employer demand?
