yeah but even with clippers and heat... he never really had the go-to guy dna. Lakers might underutilize him, but he's kind of a guy you don't want to depend on to score more than 12-15. Let him rebound, play defense, pass, and score on occasion. All around great player.... lead dog, he's not.

but thing is there are so many lead guys, a guy like Odom is invaluable. Unselfish, does all the small things to win.

Every team would love him...

yea, exactly.
and every team would gladly give him big $$ too.
one invaluable thing odom brings is great defensive versatility...HUGE in the playoffs. plus, he's always a threat to have a huge offensive night too.

great great player...one of my absolute faves.

not just good at marketing neymar :o

man, it does make me miss the nba. Gonna go run some games tonight. Nothing beats street ball in the night time. Unsure how it is in other countries, but we got courts here like the ones in nike commercials. One down street from me probably brings out 20-30 people at a time, setting up a game of 5 on 5. Your team wins, stay on, losers leave, new 5 come on.

Love it from 7-10pm weeknights, good mix. Some high school/college kids, mostly young professionals under 30

No lebron or durant, lol.

Miss you NBA,.

oh and a BIG FUCK YOU to Michael Jordan. The man who killed basketball. Hypocritical fuck.

Current Dubs v. We Believe Warriors

God Curry is dirrty when he gets rolling. Looks good off ankle surgery, expecting a huge year at of him, now that it's healthy. Spent all last year on a bum ankle and still dropped 20 a game, and was 1 of 4 players in nba to average 180 percent (50 from field, 40 from 3s, 90 from free throw line). Him, Ray Allen, Dirk, Steve Nash. Led league in free throw percent too. Not bad on 1 leg.

I need to find clip, but he did a 3 point shootout with another Warrior in practice last year. 100 3 points, 95 made. GOOD God

Ill post details of new cba and compre it to old system and what it means.

Early reports show owners did roll back a lot of restrictions. It will be tougher to sign players but not as bad. To give you idea the previous proposal would have basically made it impossible for teams like lakers, celtics, mavericks to add onto team. Aka signings like artest/blake. Or for boston, shaq/jermaine oneal or for dallas, shawn marion wouldn't happen. Ill explain in detail when its fuully disclosed but it seems the players won somewhat on that issue

Best free agents available-
Nene
Greg oden
Tyson chandler
Caron butler
Rodney stuckey
Shane battier
Marc gasol
Aron afflalo
Wilson chandler
Deandre jordan
David west

I'm probably forgetting a few. That's top of my head. Marc gasol, chandler, oden are unlikely to leave. Nene is probably most probable.

But keep in mind, deron williams, cp3 and dwight can all walk in 2012. None are convinced with there teams. All 3 teams will likely look to add or move them. Not to mention others like kg, ray allen. Bostons in a situation where next summer they could only have pp and rondo. Sign howard and resign kg much cheaper (at the moment he's top 5 paid)

Also each team is given amenesty to cut a player.

Expect more trades than free agent moves

Where could Nene go?

70% chance nene stays in denver. They can offer him the most money. He's married to colorado girl. He likes it

He's stated he wants to stay in west but we'll see. Lakers? No. Okc? No. Memphis/new orleansletc no. San antonio and portland Want him but they'd have to work out some lucrative sign and trade. Portland could offer batum and oden but they'd think its too steep

Houston has money with yao retired so that's a strong possibility. They are run by stat geeks. And advanced sabermetric stats basically make nene seem like a star when he's not. He is very good though. Also no state tax in texas.

Warriors have some money under cap but I don't want him. We need defense. He's an offensive player and wed have to overpay anyway which would screw us long term. If we could dump lee then yes... his x agent is in our management now...

Sacramento/clippers have shown interest but they're too cheap

Boston/chicago don't have cap space for him. Atlanta, orlando don't either. Nyc doesn't but will look at offers though everyone knows they are all in for paul. New jersyes a possibility with brooklyn move but they'd have to trade lopez

Miami would prefer chandler but he won't go. He'd have to take a heavy paycut but chance at title + latinos love miami, its a possibility.

Senatore any chance for this with the Bulls cap?

Hooo yes... I would love T-Mac with Bulls. Such a classy player :proud: He clearly isn´t the same player anymore so I am biased when it comes to him... one of my fave.

D-Rose with T-Mac... what a fucking duo

Tmac will get a league minimum contract so yes.... he can go anywhere. Detroit paid him like 1 mil max. Maybe left. He's truly DONE. That said he does have the smarts so he can still pass, defend, rebound a little. I think he averaged 5 points a game last year? Don't think he has knees, ankles or feet lol.

Poor tmac cause prime tmac was a personal fav of mine. Better than kobe during the early 00s. Just didn't have shaq to piggy pack off of.

Edit- 8ppg. Poor shooting and no explosiveness left. He's really not what chicago needs. Chicago needs a jason terry or james harden. Scorer off the bench who can create their own shot. Relieve pressure from drose.

I'm not rally seeing any options in free agent market. Apparently they tried to trade deng for monta. Warriors said no. I'm unsure if it really helps either team, except that dengs massively overpaid.

You really think Monta and Rose would work? I don´t really see it... both of them are amazing (Rose being out of this world) but both of them are really explosive towards the hoop players but "average" shooters who look more for a basket then assist. Monta wouldn´t really do a lot for Bulls and Bulls would not be a good choice for Monta.

I would prefer keeping Deng then... quiet scorer on the team who can put 20+ in with ease.

Monta's not an average shooter though. 37% on 3's. Excellent mid range (over 40%).

And he's an excellent catch and shoot player. His percentages when he catches and shoots are VERY high.

Monta's problem shooting are similar to kobe's. Falls in love with hero shots off dribble, which are low percentage.

In Monta's case it's cause i don't believe he's a lead star. But if he played with someone where he was a #2 option, he'd kill. Ideally i'd be in GSW when we can get a legitimate big man.

Anyway, like i said, if monta went to chicago, they'd use him like Terry. Off the bench, playing starters minutes but they'd try to stagger it where he's on floor when rose is off, and combine they'd only play half game together.

It won't happen though. Warriors don't want Deng. Deng's awesome but he's a VERY expensive role player. Not worth paying if you don't have a star

What's most frustrating about Monta is, his best season was 07-08 when we won 48 games and Baron was PG. Monta shot 53%, and was a monster cause he played off ball. He'd cut, get pass and shoot or finish. Deadly. Since Baron left, he's become a better player but at same time, i can't tell if he overhandles ball because of coaching or because he believes he's amazing. Only time he didn't was second half of 09/10 when Curry found amazing form under Nellie. Curry ran show, Monta played off him.

Last year our coach was a joke. Thought Monta was Jordan and ran offense round him only. Treated Curry like a glorified Derek Fisher player, even though curry averaged 18.6 points and shot ridiculous from everywhere (48+% from field, 44.4% 3pts, 93.5% fts.... amazing for a player who doesn't go to rim much). Hopefully our new coaches realize this and let Curry play PG and let Montas play SHOOTING GUARD. Not some glorified psuedo-point he's been doing.

----

I forgot some available options for that scorer-
Jamal Crawford and Jason Richardson.

Crawford found himself finally in atlanta where he could take that lesser role. Jason Terry type role, where he's not main scorer but comes in, does his thing and plays off others.

JRich is a better player but at this age he can't create his own shot effectively. Catch and shoot player which Chicago got.

----

I really think if Chicago are to make next step, they need a secondary offensive option to Rose. Rose will play better too if he doesn't have to create everything. Paul or Lebron (Cleveland) couldn't win titles doing it by themselves and both played better than Rose is. Just like Jordan couldn't. Kobe couldn't etc. You need a viable second option atleast.

Ideally, chicago wouldn't have gotten boozer who is 'good' but not great. But he's paid like he's great (just a little less than amare and pau and dirk).

Chicago's got the D to win a title, and 1 primary offensive player, but they really need a 2nd option or another means of scoring effectively other than Rose if they are to pass Miami and in the west.... lakers, dallas and okc.

On that note- Miami will only get better. They will continue to add players. No more stars, but they dont' need them. They need a better post defender/rebounder. A 3 point shooter. Players like Fisher, Horry or back in days with bulls.. kerr, cartwright. Small things you can find if you're diligent and well run.

lol T-Mac. those were the days. T-Mac&Yao, Shaq&Kobe. AI doing his thing in Philly., V Carter breaking hoops all over the place.

JRich looked very bad last playoffs, although besides Howard all from Orlando struggled, Jamal Crawford is a proven scorere, he can play in every team.

didnt watch many bulls game last season, but to me seems they need a better insinde presence. A Gasol, Aldridge or something like that for Boozer.

Mark Jackson to coach the Warriors. I remember him in the summer saying something like he does trust his Point Guard to run the offense, and just from time to time to intervene if things arent working.
Looks like some big games for Christmas, like Stern always likes to have:lol:

JRich at this point in his career is a decent scorer. More of a jump shooter. His days of being a slasher and crazy dunks are over.

Useful player, but at a certain price (not worth a big contract). Eitherway he can help a team.

Crawford's useful but at same time, he's not near as good as Jason Terry who people want to compare him to. Very streaky. Also he's 31. Do you want to commit multiple years? I think he stays in Atlanta.

Atlanta would consider trading Josh Smith so they could get a center, and move Horford to PF. Problem is, there are so few good centers, and many PFs no one would make that trade.

Problem is.... who's going to make that deal?

Boozer is owed 4 years, 60 million.

Considering injures + fact even when he's healthy he's a teir below. Not worth it.

It'll be interesting. Jackson is one of all time great PURE Pgs. He couldn't score much at all, but he knew how to run a team and make great passes. I mean he's 3rd all time in assists!

Curry will never be that type of PG, but at same time Curry can average 20-25 points easy. Monta same thing. So I'm not sure how it'll work.

A BIG move for the Warriors was getting Mike Malone to be lead assistant. Malone was Mike Brown's lead assistant at cleveland, guy creditted with creating their defense. And he was in New Orleans only last year. New Orleans defense went from 21st in nba to 10th in one year with Malone (and 5th least allowed).

And Warriors stole him from Lakers who wanted to hire him. Big dicking Lakers :o:o:o

I hope he does some stuff for our lack of defense. We won't have him long because he's regarded as 'next thiboneau'. He'll be a head coach very soon

RAPM-
In "Regularized Adjusted Plus-Minus" (RAPM), the goal is to provide more accurate results by employing a special technique called "ridge regression" (a.k.a. regularization). It significantly reduces standard errors in Adjusted Plus-Minus (APM).

Conventional adjusted plus-minus is shown to do a poor job of predicting the outcome of future games, particularly when fit on less than one season of data. Adding regularization greatly improves accuracy, and some player ratings change dramatically. The enhancement with the RAPM is a Bayesian technique in which the data is combined with a priori beliefs regarding reasonable ranges for the parameters in order to produce more accurate models. That is what ridge regression (a.k.a. regularization) does.

RAPM is used by a lot of the smarter teams now to view players IMPACT on winning. Note this measures effectivenes of a player on wins. Not style, not ability, just pure impact. You won't be surprised to see Lebron ranks first by a large margin, cause while he may be an ugly player to watch, he is the most impactful player on a game, between scoring efficiently, rebounding, assisting, defending, he does it all.

Note, there is also 5 man unit RAPM, which Dallas' assistant coach discovered which measures a 5 man unit's impact together. Last year the top 3 units in NBA measured-
1. Kidd, Terry, Marion, Dirk, Chandler
2. Rondo, Ray Allen, Peirce, Garnett, Big Baby
3. Fisher, Kobe, Artest, Odom Pau.

The 3 year average of BEST unit measures-
1. Rondo, Ray Allen, PP, Garnett, Perkins has best 5 man lineup since 2008. 2. Lakers 5 (listed above)
3. Mavericks 5 (listed above)

It makes sense to me because in all cases they are very balanced teams.

----
Moving back to individual

RAPM ratings for 2010/11-
http://stats-for-the-nba.appspot.com/ranking_rec
1. James, LeBron
2. Nowitzki, Dirk
3. Garnett, Kevin
4. Nash, Steve
5. Ginobili, Manu
6. Collison, Nick
7. Wade, Dwyane
8. Paul, Chris
9. Howard, Dwight
10. Duncan, Tim
11. Deng, Luol

Nash is funny, he is actually a defensive negative, but his offensive ranks SO high (highest of anyone in NBA) it actually makes his impact still a huge positive on his team (4th best in nba).

Collison is a clear outlier, and a case of a guy who had a really good season in limited minutes playing a role. No one is going to say Collison is anywhere near an elite player, but point was, when he played his team did better. One of better back up big men.

The rest of the players are high useage players so it makes sense.

4 year- RAPM Rating (07/08 thru 10/11 seasons)-
http://stats-for-the-nba.appspot.com/4-year-ranking

1. James, LeBron
2. Nash, Steve
3. Nowitzki, Dirk
4. Howard, Dwight
5. Garnett, Kevin
6. Paul, Chris
7. Wade, Dwyane
8. Ginobili, Manu
9. Duncan, Tim
10. Pierce, Paul
--

It's not always about scoring. Nash, Kg, Duncan haven't been above 20 ppg in last 4y ears, in Duncan and KG's cases it's far less, but both have huge impact on winning basketball. From rebounding, to defense, to making right pass, to scoring when they need to, when they play, their teams are more likely to win.

If I wasn't born into being a Warriors fan, OKC would be team I'd jump on. I wouldn't ever want you on my teams bandwagon anyway. Warriors fans are loyal and understand basketball. We don't want a bunch of nonbasketball fans who don't really understand whats going on like Lakers fans.

Durant is amazing, and ultimate gym rat. All lock out, all he's done is go from court to court playing pick up games. 23, :star:

Russell Westbrook is underrated too. He's a work in progress, but i love his ability. James Harden is awesome. Ibaka is nice. They got ultimate young team, who will win titles in next 5-6 years.
---

Oh or Knicks. Knicks really aren't that good but I got a soft spot for them, because their fans are closest to Warrior fans.

Just PLEASE don't become a clippers fan. They got a nice young team, one of most exciting players, but their owner is total scum. Only owner worse than our old one. He'll a) break your heart by fucking up his team and trading Griffin and b) he's just scum. In multiple lawsuits for being a slumload, discriminating against all minorities etc.

Bulls fan, well more like "fan", grew up with WGN so I feel like I was born in Chicago (seriously whole family feels identified with Chicago based teams, except mom, always more New York out of her). Granted, WGN was taken from our cable just after Jordan retired, but they still showed games from 99', and I did see them all, after that not so much, so yeah it seems pretty gloryhunting, still they always had a special place in me, just didn't see them as regularly...

I do like some teams here and there, but most importantly, I loathe loathe the Lakers and that hasn't changed one bit since I was a kid and viewed the NBA regularly. Bastards.
