Maradona on Messi:
“Messi’s a great player, but he’s not a leader.

“Before talking to the coach and players, he’ll play on the PlayStation. Then, on the field, he wants to be the leader. He’s the best in the world with Cristiano [Ronaldo].

“For me, it’s difficult to say it but it’s useless to make a leader out of a man who goes to the bathroom 20 times before a game.

“There’s no two ways about it. Let’s stop making a God out of Messi. Messi is just another player for Argentina.”

Gotta love Maradona.

?You can?t imagine how happy I was with you. I felt invincible just by having you by my side,? Diego Maradona Jr wrote in a letter to his father.

?And you can?t imagine how much I will miss your hug, dad. How much I will miss sitting next to you to watch a game of our beloved Napoli.

?And my children? How will they grow up without such a loving grandfather? I promise that they will always be next to you, that they will always defend you and they will always pump their chest with pride for their grandfather.

?Wait for me and come and get me when my time comes, because I have always wanted you by my side. Because a son with his father by his side is not afraid of anything.

"Have a good journey, No10 of my heart. I love you."

Nah, you're right. Happens with many famous people. Everyday persons like us don't really care and then when they die we are all "#RIP" on social media etc. For Maradona maybe more of us care, as he's someone important and huge in the football world. Someone who many grew up watching with excitement and such. His later life, not so much though.

Diego Maradona?s Doctor Leopoldo Luque is under investigation for the death of the Napoli legend. His house was searched by police but he defends himself: ?My only fault is to have loved him.?

Maradona died at 60 last week, after a cardiac arrest.

His doctor Leopoldo Luque is now under investigation and his house was searched for two hours on Sunday.

About 30 policemen entered his property in the morning while he was having breakfast with his daughters, reports La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Luque operated Maradona?s brain only a few days before his death and is now accused of manslaughter.

?I did everything I could do save a friend, he was like a father to me but he had decided to let himself go,? Luque told journalists in tears, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

?So many times he would send me away like a rebel father and the following day he would always call me: ?Luque, I am feeling well, fu?off. Go away.?

?It happened so many times because we had a different relationship.

?One day I didn?t want to leave his room, he told me he would get up and punch me. I told me he?d need to stand up first and then catch me. I got a little distracted and he jumped on me. But I had reached my target because he got up from his bed.

?The following day. I went to remove stitches from his head, and there, with a smile, he told me: ?You?re afraid, eh??. He was on the couch and closed his eyes, pretending to be asleep.?

There is also a document where Maradona?s psychologist officially requested an ambulance outside his home and other specialists always available, including a neurologist.

Who should have adopted these measures?

?Surely not me,? said Luque.

?We decided all together, everything depended on Maradona?s opinion. According to our law, the only way we could take decision in place of him was to have a judge who would declare him mentally uncapable.

?We did more than what we could, more than what Digo wanted us to do.

?I am responsible for extending his life. There were nurses inside his home because I used the excuse of his operated surgery, but on that side he was absolutely fine.?

Not the doc's fault... but of the cocainum

horrific details are emerging in reports about diego armando maradona?s physical condition and care in the days before his death, as there is an investigation into his doctors for manslaughter.

The napoli and argentina icon died last week at the age of 60, just weeks after leaving hospital following surgery to remove a blood clot in his brain.

According to la repubblica newspaper, maradona was in such poor physical condition that he really should?ve been an intensive care ward and not simply allowed to go home, even with medical staff observing him.

Observing is also the most important word here, as it seems the nurses assigned to maradona did precious little to help look after the football legend.

Reports in argentina, covered in la repubblica, claim there wasn?t even a working toilet in maradona?s home, so he had to use a chemical toilet.

It?s reported his heart was only working at 38 per cent capacity, had become enlarged to twice its normal side, and the hypertension was so bad that it could not be controlled by simple medication.

The whatsapp conversations between maradona?s daughters, dalma and giannina, and psychiatrist agustina cosachov were taken in as evidence and saw them allegedly discuss the need for a new doctor more committed to helping diego than leopoldo luque.

After decades of abusing his body with drugs and alcohol, maradona had withdrawal symptoms as well as depression, diagnosed by cosachov.

Maradona?s ex-wife, claudia villafane, was also quoted in the report as saying: ?if you had seen where diego died, you would?ve died too.?

?i'm so sorry, because for me maradona is more than football. It has become a religion for many and i was lucky enough to know him and talk to him," said the milan striker.

?he is a symbol of what he has done on the pitch. I always judge him for what he did on the pitch, what he did outside, in my opinion, is his problem and not ours.

"we must remember him for what he did as a footballer and in my opinion, he will be remembered forever. When you see number 10 who do you think about? Maradona.

"it is a symbol, even today there are those who choose that number for him."

?as a person, he did everything with his heart, there were no other motives or thoughts. "i don't know if that's the right thing, but that's why the whole world loved him.

"he was always himself. In today's football, everyone tries to be perfect, but to grow and learn you have to make mistakes.

"maradona always did everything with his heart and will always remain number one."

carlos bilardo still doesn?t know that diego maradona passed away at the age of 60 last week.

Bilardo coached maradona with the argentina national team, winning the 1986 world cup in mexico together, as well as at sevilla in the 1992/93 season.

Bilardo?s brother, jorge, revealed recently that telling him the sad news could affect his health, which is stable after he left a clinic a few weeks ago after getting the neurological disease hakim-adams syndrome under control.

Bilardo is, however, said to watch a lot of television, and will at some point find out.

They?ve cut the cable saying that there are problems with the television company, so bilardo spends his time watching series on netflix instead.

As they believe he will eventually find out, jorge has told cielo sports that plans are in motion to break the news to him gently.

?[maradona?s death] is something that will be four, five or twenty days in the media and that complicates things because bilardo watches television and many games,? he said in comments carried by marca.

?i spoke with [oscar] ruggeri and he is going to meet him with two or three other boys [from the 1986 argentine team] to see how he is. We?re going to see how he reacts and what happens.

?diego meant a lot in his life. There was a connection with coco villafane, claudia?s [his wife] father. We built the house for him and furnished it. My wife went with claudia to buy clothes for the girls, and in fact claudia went two or three times to see carlos recently.?

Napoli and Argentina legend Diego Armando Maradona died in November 2020 and it’s reported eight health workers will face a trial for failing to provide the necessary treatment.

Maradona was staying at home after he was released from hospital following surgery and had a team of health professionals who were meant to watching him 24 hours a day.

He died of a heart attack at the age of 60 and an investigation found the treatment was lacking, he was left for hours without supervision or help and the set-up was completely inadequate for someone in his condition.

Now La Nacion report that eight people will go to trial for manslaughter due to negligence, having failed to give Maradona the treatment that could’ve saved his life.

These include a neurosurgeon, a psychiatrist and several nurses. They risk anything from eight to 25 years in prison if found guilty of manslaughter.
They shud consider reimposing public execution for one final time.
