ohk, after watching last weeks game against siena, and todays game against bari, i do believe we will not have a hard time getting some retribution on these clowns..they played like crap now 2 weeks in a row, and we will dominate there midfield..can't wait for the rematch..
I watched both the Siena and Bari matches. Here's my (hopefully) honest analysis:
Disclaimer: I previously had thought that Inter are too strong physically for Milan, but I am now seeing big holes in their team:
1. Today they played 4-2-3-1 with Zanetti and Muntari as DMs. I cannot stress how huge of a liability this is for them having Zanetti and Muntari as DMs. Inter press on defense, so when our LB/RB has the ball, a pass through their 3 attacking midfielders already results in lots of space for us. This was evident over and over today, and Mourinho is a TERRIBLE tactician (he is a great motivator instead) that he didn't do anything to fix this problem. Our midfield will have a field day with Inter if he keeps this up. Zanetti played higher on one side, with Muntari lower on the other. We need to get the ball to our WB on Muntari's side, and get a pass through their front line and into our midfield on that side.
2. With their defensive injuries (and with Samuel suspended), they will need another makeshift defense. Only two CBs available for now are Cordoba and Lucio. Maicon will play RB, and Santon/Zanetti will play LB. Given their midfield injuries, I think Santon will need to play LB and Zanetti in midfield.
Santon looked VERY rusty today. Got beat by his man easily, and gave an errand pass every time.
3. Pandev has not been a great signing for them yet. Sure, today he put away an easy one, and earned a penalty because of Bonucci's error (playing him onside, then fouling him), but other than that, he's been mediocre at best (i.e. useless). Our LB should not have much trouble with him.
All that remains is for Nesta/TSilly to shut down Milito, which I have no doubt they can, and for Ambro or Rino to take out Sneijder, who is Inter's most deadly player.
If we have a full team (i.e. Zammy, Dorf, Pato are back, and our CBs don't get injured), we should have an easy task ahead of us and hand Mourinho his "first home loss in 8 years".
Mind you, I've been VERY fearful of Inter all season, but I've watched them closely lately, and they have been dreadful.
Mourinho is not a tactician... he is simply a motivator. He buys 2-3 good replacements for each spot, so that his starters are motivated in fear of being replaced. And he runs the team like an army, again motivating everyone to play hard. That's been his key to success - not his tactics. His tactics are DREADFUL.
