David i was wondering if its possible to make the "forum-view" smaller.. I use 1024 x 768 and i have o scroll right to read the posts some times...

I thought i could start a poll and see what resolution people use and maybe you could adjust the screen (if possible)...

Sometimes, not always. That's because sometimes people put photos in threads which are larger than the monitor width. That's why.

I've tested it on 800x600 and 1024x768 and works fine on both.

i use 800x600 and what i hate MOST are some of the college computers wits 1024x768 resolution. forum is on half of the screen with stupid blank spaces on the left and right!
the reason why have to scroll right ARE pics and that is only sometimes because we don't post pics always ;)

but, the solution for that are attachments! (david find yourself in these words of wisdom!) :) ;)

That's inevitable - to see blank space on the left and right when the resolution goes up. Imagine having 1600x1200.

Anyway, my demographics show that 52% of the folks visiting the site are using 800x600 and 35% or so 1024x768, 3,5% are using 640x480 and 3% are using 1200x800 or something like that.

So, I won't adapt this site for another resolution as long as most of the users are going for 800x600. And I bet that on 1024x768 it looks as good as on 800x600.

Regarding attachments - you know the answer. Though I THINK [not sure] I might allow pictures in only some forums.

And yeah, Ozmo, please resize your banner. ;)

What do you think about the big dots and centering the sig?

Regards,
David

i don't know for new forums but on the old one there was very ugly black space on the left and right. i'll let you know for new forums when i get a chance.

do we need that? if you do that we can't post smilies from other sites (for example). is there any chance you can limit the pic size? so it doesn't affect the size of the screen (scrolling right to read posts)?

ozmo, your sig is still causing problems. it's still too big and it makes me scroll right to read. the reason why i know it's your sig is that i don't have that problem on pages where you didn't post ;)

Those resolution stats are for www.acmilan-online.com only. I don't have the stats for the forums.

Regarding limiting the pictures width and length, there's not option regarding that. We'll see.

Glad you like the new sigs and the online/offline display status.

By the way, I've just deleted all the data from the old forum on Sunday. ;)

So i've got the largest resoloution. I use 1280x960. And I got a 15" monitor. So everything's pretty small. But the forum looks fine.
