Back after the break
Hard work doesn’t scare Serginho and with a positive attitude like this it won’t be long before his return to the field.
Serginho spoke on Milan Channel about his condition and imminent return to the pitch:
‘I am working hard so that I can return as soon as possible. At this point, the most important news is that my back doesn’t hurt any more. As far as my physical condition goes, I am still not yet in top form and because of this I still have a lot of work to do in the gym. I want to return in top form and so I would say that it is more likely to happen after the break for national duty than for this weekend’s game against Atalanta.
‘Not being able to make my contribution to the team is tough. I’ve never before been out for so long. Now, the toughest moment is over and I am totally focused on my daily work. I can’t wait to get back on the field.
‘The team are doing well, although it’s too bad about the derby loss. We weren’t very fortunate and Inter probably had a bit more physical strength than we did. Everyone knows that a derby loss is tough but it absolutely doesn’t take away from all we have accomplished up until now. We are coming from a streak of good results and I think that this is the path that we will continue to take. We have two fundamental objectives in front of us: the Champions League and fourth place in Serie A.
‘All of the Brazilian players are doing well and so is Ricardo Oliveira in his own special way. We were all waiting anxiously for some good news about his sister and now that she has been freed it’s like an enormous weight has been lifted from him. I think that now he will be able to demonstrate his value. Ricardo is an exceptional guy and a great player. Now, everyone will see what he can do.’
