Don't kid yourself about Blackburn Kalac. They were the first sugar daddy club of the EPL era. Plus, they only won the friggin league because Cantona got banned

If ManU get him, not Solsjkaer, he'd be seen as the best striker the league has seen by a way. But they didn't. And so he gets thrown into the same category as Cantona who quite frankly isn't anywhere near his standard.

agree to disagree, henry was a complete forward.

They also wouldn't have done it without him.
Nobody is yet to even come close, Cole is 73 goals away. Henry almost 100. How people can dismiss him is crazy.

Complete forward, yes. But this isn't about the most talented players otherwise Veron would be on that list, but he isn't.

Cantona was a very good striker.... Not Shearer, Henry, Bergkamp good, but just below that tier - however, his influence on man utd was immeasurable.... it's hard to describe, but he managed to be the last piece of a jigsaw, yet, in doing so flipped over all the other pieces to make an even better picture

Maybe... but ljundbergs best consistent form was after 2002.

Anyway, if it's pre-2002, I'm not sure he deserves best foreign 11. Heck I'm not sure he deserves it period. Not a bad player though.

Henry's best years were def post 2002

VDS was a calming influence who would contantly talk to the defence whilst Schmeichel was a loud prick who would start fights with his own defenders on the pitch and scare everyone shitless
Truthfully I don't remember much Shmeichel. Couldn't put him in... same goes for Cantona.

yes, but shearer played for 5-6 more seasons.

and you're talking like henry achieved fuck all when you bring up veron, henry was the most explosive player in the history of the PL, he would score/create out of nothing.

shearer was a great player, but it's like saying raul is better than ronaldo.

I just came up with a really good analogy and this is how you reply

He changed the attitude of the first team... in many ways, he was what was needed to instill Fergie's never-say-die attitude in the squad, something which has stuck as the driving force behind the success, even now...

I know all about his influence bro, my childhood friend has been a united fan since he was a tiny kid, I've heard and seen enough to know all about cantona.

but he really is the most overrated player in history when united fans open their mouth

No I'm saying that bringing in 'complete forward' is irrelevant. It's about time in the premiership, and you can't overlook somebody who got 112 goals in 138 games for Blackburn. That's crazy numbers. Had he not struggled with his injuries later in his career he'd have broke 300.

If he left for ManU nobody would argue it.

Raul's entire career in Spain>Ronaldo's time at Madrid.

True, though if Cole had played the same amount as Shearer + took penalties he would have gone well past Shearer.

Shearer played in the EPL for 13 years for 2 good clubs. Cole played 80 odd games for Newcastle then 270 odd games for United (that is including CL and cup games aswell, where Cole played a lot), after that he went to fodder clubs like Fulham, Blackburn, City, Pompey ect. Shearer also had a team built around him for club + country.

Not saying Cole > Shearer btw, but Cole would have gone past that record if he stuck around.

I'd say if Shearer plays that many for United he gets around 200. Newcastle weren't a title challenging team either, they were UEFA cup/last CL spot at best.

Looking at Cole, he hardly ever came close to Shearer aside from one season at Newcastle. It's all if's and but's, if Shearer stays fit, if Cole sticks around at top clubs etc.
