Pirlo and Ronnie play two totally different positions. Taking out a central midfielder in order to field in a left striker does not make sense at all.

Ronnie is doing brilliantly. Hopefully he can keep this form up til the derby ends.

Pirlo is a burden right now. He really gives me the feeling that every time he plays well it has 80% to do with his luck.

Yeah ... Italy are missing Gattuso. De Rossi isn't having the same effect, leaving Pirlo isolated. But thats no excuse. He's having a poor game, especially considering he didn't play over the weekend. Lets see what Lippi does in the second half.

Disallowed goal though ... was a bit of the ol' 06 magic, Pirlo finding Grosso.

Italy playing poor as a team. Lippi probably should ask Maldini to play as he'd be an upgrade to that defense.

The midfield that has Pirlo always ends up helping him to get the ball back and that is pretty much everything they can do in a match. Dead midfield, isolated front and a hopeless team. He plays the most vulnerable position in the squad but has no willing to fight for the ball as he cannot do that anyways.
