"Gennaro Gattuso is currently taking over his first training session as Milan manager"

Montella was informed of his sacking by a club worker and not directly by Fassone or Mirabelli [Sky]

Exactly the way it should have been. :star: :proud:

Hope is that Gattuso will be able to sort out the psychology of this team at the very least and prepare the terrain for a more experienced tactician.

My thoughts exactly.
Rino needs to play a basic 442, field whoever is hungrier and motivate the shit out of them.

It's what the team needs right now. No top coach will take over mid season to start rebuilding the team from scratch.

If he puts some passion in then I'll be happy.

I don't expect a tactical masterclass but if they actually chase down and make some runs I'll be at least a bit pleased.

Why would you guys suprised with the appointment of Gattuso as the interim coach? Its an obvious choice.

Interim coach could last from days to months.

This team doesn't need a tactical masterclass.
It needs to do the basics right.

The opposite of what Midtablotella was doing.

I wanted Montella gone but how does Gattuso get a job when he got sacked from some second division team lmao this club is a rabble again and we thought these days were over during the summer. I really hope we have some sort of plan for a top coach and Gattuso gains some experience now and returns back to the youth team.

I love Rino, decade and half as a player.

But I am afraid that he will be used as a scapegoat.

Have you by chance read Conte's biography?

Things keep going from bad to worse. Can we even survive relegation at this rate?

Big mistake and it´s not like it does´t matter anymore, tying to win the EL and a EL-spot finish in the league are still important goals.

The decision of sacking Montella was taken by Yonghong Li and David Han Li, Fassone and Mirabelli wanted to give him one final chance against Benevento [Sky].

I'm dissapointed with F & M.

Unsure of Gattuso but I hope he proves me wrong. Glad the sack came, I could only take so many times of Montella claiming we played super well after drawing with small time clubs like Torino or Athens.

I also hope we keep Gattuso in the club in another position regardless of his head coach results. We need to start looking and contacting perspective managers right now for the next season. It's very unlikely that Rino is the man for the job longterm.

Montella was looking out of depth, but I am not sure this is a good idea. Gattuso, while he was a great player, he has been a disaster of a coach. Too fucking volatile, he is like an accident waiting to happen.

Milan needed to convince a quality coach to take over (someone like Ancelotti) before sacking Montella. Gattuso is a wildcard, and most likely he won't even last till the end of the season.

I'm dissapointed with F & M.

Montella beats Benevento 3-0.

Then we draw to the next decent team, then lose to a better one.

And we've got 4 points from 9 and the cycle continues.

I'm happy he's gone because we never looked capable of performing to expectations. If he'd lost to every big team, drawn to those around us and beaten every one weaker, we'd be in a much better position.

Instead it's like every result has been one-level worse than it should have been.

Train our player:

All of them:
- when and where to run
- when and where to pass
- when and how to press opponent when losing the ball

Player near the box:
- how to finish inside the box
- how to pull on target long shots

The midfield:
- how to dictate tempo
- how to make precise through passes

The wingback:
- when to make ab overlap
- how to produce accurate crosses

The defender :
- how to set an offside trap
- where to send clearence pass
- how to do man/zonal marking

The gk
- where to send ball for counter attack

Etc..

Lol...you think its a playstation game where you control each player.....the players aren't going to learn how to cross all of a sudden or learn how to dictate tempo in midfield (in fact there are only 4 players currently who do that properly: Modric, Kroos, Thiago Alcantara, and Verratti)

Anways.....I hope they have some patience with Gattuso and hope he is the one legend we don't burn bridges with coaching wise

I'm sceptical about Gattuso. He relegated Pisa from Serie B, where he had the best defence and worst attack. I hope i'm wrong and wish him the best.
