Leonardo: Paqueta still has 10 games to play in the championship and he is fighting for the title. Let him be. There will be time to talk about the market, which opens on Jan 3, and only then can we complete a few things before we formalize the signing.

I'm excited for what the signing represents. A young Brazilian signing is nostalgia X 1000000. But I don't know much about him apart from the crash course I have given myself in the last few hours.

So, I am reading carefully here and asking for scout reports from my Brazilian colleagues/friends who watch the league. One of them is a Fluminese (not Flamengo) supporter, and he said the biggest obstacle will be his mental approach since it is easy to be celebrated and adored in Brazil after not doing all that much. Almost everyone says the Kaka comparisons are plain wrong, and so are the Ganso ones in part because Paqueta is definitely faster.

He seems vital to his team, which is a good thing. Let's see how it pans out.

All in all you need 18 first 11 quality players if you a srs team.

Question is...where would he play?

If reports are to be believed, he doesnt want to play in the middle. So dont know where to play him.

Ideally, if he does agree to play in the middle (and we somehow manage to miraculously get him and Martial), I could see a formation something like below eventually (also granted Ibra arrives):

Martial - Higuain - Suso

Paqueta - Rabiot - Kessie

RR - Romagnoli - Caldara - Conti

Donnarumma

Bench: Reina, Calabria, Laxalt, Musacchio, Zapata, Biglia, Cutrone, Bonaventura, Samu, Hakan, Bakayoko, Ibra, Abate*

Thats a Top 2-3 team in Serie A easily.

Highly achievable while still adhering to FFP (even if its a pipe dream).
