True but not enough for CL game (big Matches).

i disagree i feel his fortitude is enough mentally for highest games of tension (CL games).

it is not only for tension wise it is about the lack of experiences & skills to serve the team in CL games .

He is for sure a brave keeper and courage one which doing his best to guard the net, but with only those attributes, he can't guarantee the net from dangerous strikers and score-machines' teams.

dont compare storari to kalac. storari is a good keeper and maybe he wasn't great years ago for us, but what matters is now and right now, he consistently turned in great performances up until his injury. your dida bias makes you insult storari, but really, even though dida has been doing well for us, you never know with this guy anymore, he could be amazing or terrible on any given day, his consistency is nothing to note, and if he goes down or loses confidence yet again as he has done many times over the past few years who is there to replace him??? abbiatti is a better keeper nowadays than dida, but he got seriously injured and is just now getting better, but you never know how a player wil recover from a serious injury like abbi had... so that leaves us with who??? a youth keeper?? this is a bad move, and I'm glad you agree, but don't insult the guy just because you have a dida obsession.
Why can't I compare the two? I think you'd understand that it doesn't constitute knocking the guy. Storari is better than Kalac on his best day (faint praise, I know), but this season wasn't enough for me to jump onto the Storari-is-all-that bandwagon. He had seven great games with us, but that's nowhere near enough time for a GK to prove himself over the long haul. That's about the same or less than Kalac had, as he had ended the 07-08 season on a high note and people were actually penciling him in as our starter for the next campaign. Then he died from Chelseaitis. Therefore, it has nothing to do with a Dida bias; I call 'em as I see 'em. In fact, I'll go ahead and say that Storari went ahead and took the easy way out instead of trying to regain his spot (which he lost due to his own silly mistake in the first place), which he had a legitimate chance of doing.

What I find more annoying is the ongoing Abbiati-is-our-best-keeper invective. Never mind that it's now been 10 months since he last played. If that were the case, he'd probably be back in the lineup by now. He isn't even being called up for any of the games, for crying out loud. Heck, F'n Roma even made the Coppa bench over him this week. Clearly, Leo knows something we don't in terms of his condition. Prior to Marco's departure, he was third in the pecking order.

Anyway, sorry for the lengthy rant.

Marco Storari was so desperate to flee Milan he went on bended knee and begged to vice-president Adriano Galliani so he could grant his Sampdoria wish.

"I really wanted to join Sampdoria so much that I refused many offers," he told La Gazzetta Dello Sport.

"When I knew about Sampdoria I begged Galliani to let me leave. I wanted to play with consistency and I told the Milan directors."

Storari joined Samp on loan from Milan until the end of the season as a replacement for the injured Luca Castellazzi.

Although Storari's deal in Genoa expires in June, he has been linked with a permanent stay as Catellazzi has been rumoured to be set to join Inter and act as Julio Cesar's understudy.

With Dida leaving and Storari sold, atleast we will save enough money to buy a young good WC pottential keeper for the future as an understudy to Abiatti or even take over the no 1 next year for sure. So good news actually. There's no way we will play with just Abiatti and Roma.

I actually wouldn't mind him coming back. As a backup just in case. But given that he seems keen on wanting to play, then that doesn't seem likely.

I'd have gone for a Abbiati, Storari, young talent goal keeping lineup for next season. Lets see how this develops.

what is with storari's contract? it realy ends this summer??

if it does, than it's better to sell abbiati, who is worse and his contract doesn't end so we can get some money out of him, and he has got big salary, than selling storari, who can walk out without payment and he is better and cheaper than abbiati. (first keeper would be marchetti :D)

Storari to Milan, Galliani: "Back to 100%"

Storari to Milan, Galliani: "Back to 100%"

13/04/2010 11:30 Stephen Marvel

The label is owned by Milan, but Marco Storari has convinced everyone in Genoa and would hold him. This opens the question who sees the No.1 Roman, torn between the two teams. The Rossoneri are looking for a deputy has in safe custody and experience, Sampdoria would bet on him as owner. And 'that's the grief that does the same Sotrari waver. Saying "goodbye" to the title role for Milan or play with continuity in a world smaller than the Milanese? The two companies are planning to do. Milan revise the assignment to his player but to stimulate it back, Samp stated that the betting on him for the future. Galliani on the other hand is more than convinced: "Storiari Rossoneri return to 100%." The will of the leadership is strong AC Milan: Dida's contract not be renewed (as is suggested by the contario anyone until a few days ago), so like that of Rome also intended to leave Milan. This opens a chasm that sees Abbiati and the void behind him. Unlikely direct promotion of a young spring (at a delicate role as the second goalkeeper, you prefer to experience the freshness), from here the words of Galliani putting to rest any rumors about the vice Abbiati. Storari is therefore intended to return to base, to lock the door again Rossoneri.

Bring back the 3rd medicore keeper also to compete with Dida and Abiatti. Now Galliani can say we almost signed ( insert name ) just like Lloris 2 years back but Storari/Dida/Abiatti refused to leave and sticked on. :head::head::head:

Just hold on to one of the 3, sell 2 of em and bring a proper world class pottential goal keeper who is actually better than the 3 we have ( someone like Neuer, Lloris, Sirigu, Akinkeev or Alves). Mandanda is ok. Marchetti is overratted so is that Arsenal kid.

sell abbiati, release dida, get back storari, buy marchetti or lloris for 1st goalkeeper and call boys from primavera for sitting on the bench.

very simple.

PS: mandanda is shit!

Marchetti is just plain awful when dealing with crosses - he has shown insecurity vs. Milan (OK, maybe he made a pact with Astori :D), but he was horrible v. Juve in the last round. Not anywhere near ready to be our first choice.

Imo Storari was our best keeper this season, the team was shit in the beginning, but he did well and was the best. So I would like to get him back from the loan at Samp. Throw out Dida and instead take back Storari.
We shouldn't get an expensive keeper, that position is not priority, but other positions are. Having Storari and Abbiati is not that bad and third keeper could be one of the Primavera guys. Our squad needs some other reinforcements and most of them are more important than the GK position.

Storari: "There is time to talk about the future"

For microphones SampTv Marco Storari returns to the big win in the derby on Sunday: "It 'was a special joy-said-Sampdoria goalkeeper had not won three derbies, so it was necessary to give joy to our fans. The atmosphere in the dressing room was good, but we felt the sensation of a different game, tense and with more responsibility. For this we have entered the field very aggressive, because we wanted to make us "feel" from Genoa, at the same time, however we were very correct and I think this was the best example on how to approach a derby. Now, added the goalkeeper, we are preparing to Milan, we play the Champions and we continue to believe, they are a great team even if they are living a very bright ". Do not even want to talk of his possible return to Milan: "I certainly will not be a lot like each other but do not want to deal with problems that are premature for now is an important objective for an opponent, in due course we will discuss the rest" .

Storari's hair belongs at Milan. His body can come too, and so can his skills. But his hair must return.
