Clarence Seedorf's career
31.5 || unknown

Clarence Seedorf is the 9th Dutch footballer to wear the red-and-black shirt. Frank Rijkaard was his first and most convinced sponsor. Together (with Ajax) the two conquered a European Cup against AC Milan (in 1995). On the following season Seedorf moved to Sampdoria and was later called up to Madrid by Fabio Capello. With the ‘Merengues’ Clarence Seedors won the Champions League (in 1998 against Juve in Rotterdam).

He was born in Paramaribo, Suriname, on April 1,1976, and proved a very eclectic footballer, as he can play in any midfield position. He made is professional début with the Ajax shirt when he was only 16 (77 caps, 11 goals).

He moved to Sampdoria in 1995: in his first Italian season he played 32 matches, scoring 5 goals. He found his consecration with the Real Madrid shirt. In the Liga he collected 127 caps (18 goals) and won the Champions League and the Intercontinental Cup.

He got back to Italy (Inter Milan) at the end of 1999. Curiously, he socred his first goal with the black-and-blue against AC Milan (Seba Rossi was the goalie) in an Italian Cup match (Jan. 13, 2000).

i never liked this guy :( i don't know. i can't explain why but... he was one of the biggest mockery in my old school and we all used to make fun of my friend (inter fan) because of this guy.

oh, what the heck. we got him, he's a milan player now. that's a fact!

it's official ozmo. if the official site says so it has to be official.

read this:

THE FIELD JUDGEMENT

Clarence Seedorf is the second AC Milan new signing for 2002-2003 after Jon Dahl Tomasson. The Dutch midfielder has been swapped with Francesco Coco, who is gonna be regretted by a lot of red-and-black fans who already wrote to acmilan.com and ‘Milan Channel’: many people say that we already have good midfielders and, giving Coco to Inter Milan, we solved their problems on the left wing. As far as Seedorf is concerned, AC Milan managers are sure they made a good deal. He’s just 26 and is already very experienced and used to win. Also when AC Milan had bought Pippo Inzaghi, lot of people complained about it. But then the had to change their mind. In the end, as usual, we’ll have to wait the new season to decide who’s right and who is wrong.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

when ac milan bought pippo inzaghi we had only one good attacker. and when ac milan bought clarence seedorf we had 3 great midfielders. not to mentione that he plays on pirlo's and rui's position. i don't get this :conf:

we'll see

Seedorf had played a vital role in Inter's midfield last season under coach Cuper. I hope he can adapt as well in Carletto's coach's way while he has good skill and determination.

Welcome, Seedorf!! :)

Looks good :D ! But in the second one, wouldn't it be better if gattuso was right and seedorf was centre?

Wages hitch threatens Seedorf-Coco swap
-----www.onefootball.com - Monday 3rd June 2002

AC Milan president Adriano Galliani revealed on Monday that the Clarence Seedorf-Francesco Coco swap deal with Internazionale has hit a snag.

"The clubs still haven't reached agreement and there is a problem with settling fair wages," he said.

Inter are after a left-back for next season and thought they had found their man in Coco, who spent last season on loan at Barcelona. Milan's interest in Seedorf is more baffling, as the club have several creative midfielders already.

But Galliani sets little store by criticism that Inter are getting the better of the deal. "I like this player a lot and it's not true that he could have a problem integrating with Andrea Pirlo and Manuel Rui Costa. Seedorf can play in a variety of midfield roles.

"We spoke to his agent Giovanni Branchini, but did not talk about money because we need to wait for Clarence to agree to come.

"If he is interested in coming to AC Milan we will open talks about his contract. We want him, but can't wait too long. If he doesn't come, Coco will return to us," Galliani confirmed.

The Milan supremo also revealed that the club were chasing a high-profile defender, implying that it was Lazio's Alessandro Nesta.

"We are still looking at a big name in defence. He's neither Fabio Cannavaro or Jaap Stam. Thuram? No, no. He's Italian. He's the only player we want."

Galliani said to Seedorf to hurry-up about his future, the durchman has to decide if stay to Milan with a salary reduced and in a position not natural for him or move.

Now, if we were really interested to Seedorf, we surely haven't replied so, then Milan wants surely sell him, maybe to get money to take a strong defender. Nesta? i've some doubts... i hope in a surprise ;)

I'm convinced that Galliani bets Seedorf on the casinos tables to get someone else (maybe better).

Milan need another world class defender. Maldini is the best defender to ever kick a football, but he's about 34 now if im not mistaken. Once Maldini goes, someone has to be there to take his place. Nesta or Cannavaro would be suitable in my opinion. Who else is there that can fill the sort of role that Maldini has played for the last 15+ years???

man im really getting confused here... :head:

first its nesta, then its absolutely NOT nesta, then its cannavaro, then its NOT cannavaro, then its Thuram (wich i never believed in), then its cannavaro again, then nesta going to inter, then cannavaro deal is off, then coco comes, then he goes to inter, then nesta gets into the picture AGAIN ???

what the hell is going on here ???? :conf:

Swan - I was thinking the same thing, we might just be trying to get him because

1. Seedorf is good;

2. We wanted someone really good in exchange for getting rid of a player that doesn't want to play for us. I think that Inter is so stupid to give us Seedorf for Coco. With the way that Coco is talking it is obvious that he won't play here, he hates AC Milan. Most of the time when teams want to get rid of a problem player they sacrifice getting less in return just to not have to deal with the problem player anymore. We got rid of a problem and got an equal value back.

3. I is totally possible that we are getting Seedorf so that we can transfer him to somewhere else; possible for a defender. There have been reports that Mendieta very well might go back to Spain, which would give a spot to Seedord at Lazio and we get Nesta.

It could happen. I hope in a suprise too. :D

Diavoletto, we didnt solve inters problem on left back, we just made it.
Coco is bad player, just big name for useless guy.
They took him, so they will not buy anyone who is really good.

SR, I dont like your attitude towards Seedorf.
Just look at his history, he is one of gratest in 26 year.
And if anyone says he is bad remember inter - juve match and 2 seedorfs goals.
And if you watch that, just look at TUDOR. Thats what we need the most!!!
The best deffender who scores!

Seedorf Says Yes To Milan

The proposed swap by Milan rivals of Francesco Coco for Clarence Seedorf is set to go through, after the latter finally agreed to give his blessings to the sensational deal.

The multi-talented Holland International midfielder – who joined Inter in December 1999 from Real Madrid - is set to put pen to paper on a three-year deal with his former sworn enemies AC Milan, after undergoing a routine medical scheduled for Thursday.

Its too bad Coco was the unlucky man!
Francesco Coco was one of my favo players with Milan.
He will always have a special place in my Rossonero heart!!!!!
But he now plays for Internazionale and thats really really bad news.

And I hope Clarence Seedorf will be play as good as with Inter last year. Maybe then we will win the Scudetto. I hope so much.

My God! That`s a suprise - a startling one. We have many quality midfielders, so what do we need Seedorf for? Oh, well - maybe he will become a true Milanista, but that`s doubtful since he was an Inter player. One thing is sure: he won`t need to find a new apartment :D

The mysterious defender? Who can he be? I hope he isn`t talking about Marco Materazzi...

Seedorf has Rijkaard ambition
14.6 || unknown

Clarence Seedorf has revealed that he joined Milan in a bid to emulate his idol Frank Rijkaard.

The Dutch midfielder has been presented to the Press by the Rossoneri following his move from city rivals Inter.

"Rijkaard was always my idol as a man and a player. He is one of the players imprinted in the Milan history books and it would be a great honour for me if I could do something similar," he told Milan Channel.

"These are particular moments in a footballers life when they make a move such as this. But I understood what Milan could signify for me and what I could signify for Milan. This is what convinced me to come here."

Seedorf did think carefully about the move after the two clubs agreed a deal which will see Francesco Coco – currently on loan at Barcelona – transfer to Inter as part of the deal.

"Before deciding to make the move I thought long and hard. But I’m delighted to be part of such a great side. The fact that the club wanted me so badly was very important for me," he added.

"I spoke to Ruud Gullit before I decided to sign and he spoke very highly of Milan. I’m very hopeful for the future and believe in the project which Coach Carlo Ancelotti has presented to me."

Some reports claim that Seedorf asked for specific guarantees from Ancelotti after failing to command a regular starting shirt under Hector Cuper at the Nerazzurri last term.

"I have never asked the Coach for any guarantees. I have spoken with Ancelotti on two occasions and I thank him for his honesty," he continued.

"I’ve not turned my back on the Inter fans. I’m sure they can understand my decision. After all I’m joining a side that after Real Madrid have won the most European Cups in history."

Seedorf is set to wear the No 20 shirt next season.

If this is true than it's good because i like Seedorf very much and i think that he is good player so that why i'll be pleased to see him in our team.I think that he will fit good here and i hope that he won't stay on bench like Coco did.
But is that all?
Milan won't buy other players?Only Seedorf and Tomasson?I think that this is not enough if they want to win the scudeto or CL.I think that they schould buy other players. And what was that with Figo?I've heard that they might exchange Figo for Contra and Javi Moreno or something like that. What was that?
